  • Patent number: 7472182
Abstract: Collecting data for a storage area network includes providing a plurality of agents that collect data from objects of the storage area network, providing a plurality of data collection policies, where each of the policies indicates a type of data to be collected and a frequency of collection, and applying the policies to the agents, where the agents collect data according to the type of data and the frequencies indicated by the data collection policies. At least one of the agents may have a plurality of data collection policies applied thereto to cause the at least one agent to collect the types of data at the frequencies indicated by the merge of all of the data collection policies applied to the at least one agent. Merging the data collection policies may be performed by the at least one of the agents that receives the data collection policies or may be performed by an entity other than the at least one of the agents.

  • Patent number: 7023983
Abstract: A signal conditioning circuit is described which can facilitate dual mode use of a connector circuit, e.g., audio mode or data mode. In other words, a headset or alternatively, a data interface may be coupled to the connector circuit and signal conditioning circuit, depending on the mode of the device. In accordance with this disclosure, the signal conditioning circuit operates in audio mode without the need for conventional blocking capacitors in the speaker channels. Moreover, in some embodiments, the signal conditioning circuit also provides backwards compatibility with conventional connector circuits that include such blocking capacitors.

  • Patent number: 6976269
Abstract: An Internet co-location facility security system integrates all the major components of the system and makes tracking information from these components available to co-located members on a database accessible from the web. A web-based interface allows co-located members to assign visitor access to the Internet co-location facility through the Internet from remote computer terminals. A visitor access and enrollment system allows a visitor to enroll only once in the system to be granted access to one or more other Internet co-location facility security systems around the globe.

  • Publication number: 20030041494
Abstract: A greeting device has a case adapted for overhead mounting. A mistletoe object is attached to and suspended below the case. Also, a speaker is mounted at the case. A driver, including a sound playback device, is mounted in the case and coupled to the speaker. The playback device has stored therein a sound recording containing information related to the mistletoe object. The recording contains information concerning kissing. A proximity sensor is mounted at the mistletoe object outside the case. A proximity sensor, including a sensing head and a wire, is routed between the case and the sensing head. The sensing head dangles on the wire. The proximity sensor is coupled to the playback device for producing a proximity signal in response to arrival of a person. The playback device can play the sound recording through the speaker in response to the proximity signal.
