Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for compressing digital images by arranging the images in a series, subtracting the pixel of each of the images from its corresponding pixel in its adjacent image, adjusting the pixel value to zero for pixels having an absolute value less than a predetermined threshold value, and compressing said images using a compression algorithm to form compressed images. Images compressed in accordance with the invention can be reduced in size by at least about 60%. Compressed images can be stored, manipulated, and transferred with increased efficiency and speed at a greatly reduced cost.

Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting and/or displaying related images. Images may be selected by designating a first region of interest in an image, wherein the first region of interest comprises one or more addresses including an address of interest; locating one or more images in a selected series of images containing at least one address from the first region of interest; and selecting a first group of images from the selected series of images containing at least one address from the first region of interest. The selected images may be, displayed, stored, transmitted, and/or printed.
