  • Patent number: 7483410
Abstract: A wireless office communication system including a multi-protocol wireless internet base station (WIBS) encompassing a base station controller, a mobile switch controller and an ethernet interface module for coupling the WIBS to an existing internet protocol (IP) based network. The interface module provides for coupling the WIBS to an ethernet back-bone, a mobile communication unit and a public switch telephone network (PSTN). In one embodiment of the invention, a maintenance and operation server is coupled to the ethernet back-bone to allow a technician to remotely call into the enterprise system from a mobile system such as a lap-top computer or a personal digital assistant (PDA) to perform typical system operations and maintenance functions via the internet.

  • Patent number: 7430181
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a carrier medium carrying programming instructions to wirelessly configure a station of a wireless network. The method, in a first wireless station of a wireless network, includes determining if a configuration request message has been wirelessly received from a second wireless station. The method further includes generating a configuration data message for the second wireless station including one or more configuration parameters for the second wireless station. The method further includes wirelessly transmitting the configuration data message to the second wireless station. A user can use a device implementing the method to configure the second wireless station.

  • Patent number: 7120133
Abstract: A wireless office communication system including a multi-protocol wireless internet base station (WIBS) encompassing a base station controller (BSC), a mobile switch controller (MSC) and an ethernet interface module for coupling the WIBS to an existing internet protocol (IP) based network. The interface module provides for coupling the WIBS to an ethernet back-bone, a mobile communication unit and a public switch telephone network (PSTN). In one embodiment the wireless communication system includes wireless signaling logic and media gateway logic to enable the wireless office communication system to handle signal transmission between a mobile terminal and a media gateway. A virtual circuit identity code (VCIC) enables the base station to provide a virtual traffic path (VTP) to link communications between TIA/EIA-634 wireless signaling and media gateway control protocol (MGCP).
