  • Patent number: 10172051
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for optimizing service recovery during manual closed subscription group (CSG) cell selection in a long term evolution (LTE) network. A user equipment (UE) receives a registration rejection with a temporary cause from a network of a CSG cell selected through the manual CSG cell selection. It is determined from the registration rejection whether the temporary cause comprises a cause value that allows the UE to return to a saved or previously visited public land mobile network (PLMN). Service recovery of the UE is performed with a registered PLMN (RPLMN), if the temporary cause does not comprise the cause value that allows the UE to return to the saved or previously visited PLMN.

  • Patent number: 9967915
Abstract: A method of disconnecting a packet data network (PDN) connection or a packet data protocol (PDP) connection from an access point name (APN) by a user equipment (UE), including sending, to a network apparatus, a signaling message to request disconnecting the PDN connection or the PDP connection from the APN, wherein the signaling message includes an information element (IE), and receiving a deactivate request message from the network apparatus which deactivates the PDN connection or the PDP connection, in response to the signaling message.

  • Patent number: 9788273
Abstract: A method and a wireless network system are provided for paging reception optimization in a first terminal. The method includes establishing, by the first terminal, a Device-to-Device (D2D) communication with a second terminal; receiving, by the first terminal, paging information from the second terminal; receiving, by the first terminal, a paging message from a network; and sending a paging notification to the second terminal upon receiving a paging message for the second terminal.

  • Patent number: 9712983
Abstract: A method and user equipment for handling a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection in a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes obtaining, by a User Equipment (UE), a PLMN list of one or more Radio Access Technologies (RATs) comprising a list of available PLMNs, when the UE performs a Manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) selection, initiating a PLMN list validation timer, and reusing the previously obtained PLMN list, when at least one predefined event is triggered and the PLMN list validation timer is running. The at least one predefined event comprises at least one of Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) timer expiration, a manual PLMN selection, the manual CSG selection, and autonomous CSG selection.
