Abstract: A novel plant created as an interspecific hybrid of the genus Jatropha designated as Nandan-4 is disclosed. The plant was created by the hybridization of the uncultivated Jatropha gossypifolia with the cultivated Jatropha curcas species. The new interspecific hybrid plant thus invented is found to have unique traits that differed from either parent. This invention relates to the Jatropha interspecific hybrid Nandan-4 plant, the plants generated by any means from a plant part selected from the group consisting of leaves, pollen, embryos, cotyledons, hypocotyls, meristematic cells, roots, root tips, pistils, anthers, flowers, inflorescence, and stems from Nandan-4.
