  • Publication number: 20180084776
Abstract: A granular composition that comprises one or more microorganisms, two or more plant powders and a biodegradable water-absorbent agent. Also provided is a method of producing a granular composition by admixing a composition comprising two or more plant powders and a biodegradable water-absorbent agent, and (i) one or more lubricants to form a dough, and processing the dough to form granules, or (ii) coating a substrate with the dough to form the granular composition. The microorganism can be located in the admixture, the dough or both the admixture and the dough. The granular composition is applied to soil to, for example, kill or control pests, maintain or increase plant or crop growth, maintain or increase pasture production, maintain or increase plant, crop or pasture yield, deliver probiotics to grazing animals or livestock, and/or bioremediate the soil.

  • Publication number: 20100266560
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition and method of manufacture including a substrate coated with a biopolymer and aqueous biological gel and subsequently coated with at least one desiccation agent. The resulting composition is dry to touch, has a low water activity and stabilises the biological material for storage over at least one month at ambient temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20100266727
Abstract: The invention relates to a storage stable composition and method of manufacture containing a biological material, oil and a biopolymer which has a water activity of less than 0.5. The biological material in the composition attains significant stability and resistance to temperature, humidity and oxygen degradation. Advantages from the invention include the ability to stabilise, further process, store and then release the probiotic bacteria at a later date and retain viability. In addition the composition and method is more practical for producing and marketing of biological materials including probiotic material as it is simple, has low energy requirements and the resulting product is easy to incorporate in formulations and foods.

  • Publication number: 20080254054
Abstract: A composition and methods of production are described including fungal material, a solid substrate and a biopolymer composition. The composition is described as being stable when stored for at least 7 months and also reduces dust losses normally attributed to fungal compositions. Uses are described for the composition including pest and weed treatments.
