  • Publication number: 20240024668
Abstract: A method stimulates a nerve by providing a device having an arm formed of an elastomeric material. A channel through which the nerve travels is defined at least in part by the arm. The channel has a continuously axial longitudinal axis at rest. A nerve stimulation chamber is defined at least in part by the arm. The nerve stimulation chamber is configured to retain the nerve therein. The device has an electrode in the chamber. The method reduces a dimension of a nerve. The is less than 50% of the diameter of the undeformed nerve. The device is configured to apply less than 6.7 kPa of pressure to the nerve at any given point. The nerve is positioned in the chamber, and the cross-sectional dimension of the stretched nerve is increased. At least 20% of the perimeter of the nerve is maintained in contact with the electrode.

  • Publication number: 20240024667
Abstract: A neuromodulation device includes a movable arm coupled with a main body. The movable arm is configured to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The movable arm is biased towards the closed configuration. A nerve stimulation chamber is defined at least in part by the movable arm. The nerve stimulation chamber is configured to retain a nerve therein. The device has an open channel through which the nerve travels. The channel is defined at least in part by the movable arm. The size and shape of the chamber and the channel are adjustable by the movement of the arm in response to contact with the nerve. The channel may be continuously axial along a longitudinal axis of the channel when the movable arm is in the closed configuration. The chamber has an electrode.

  • Patent number: 11587655
Abstract: A method of monitoring a breastfeeding of a user that includes providing at least one detector that measures a first data of a breastfeeding event, receiving a second data from the user and processing the first data and the second data to create a lactation transfer report. The method communicates the lactation transfer report to a user device and/or a device accessible by one or more experts and provides feedback to the user based on an evaluation of the lactation transfer report by the one or more experts. The first data includes the time of the breastfeeding event, a length of the breastfeeding event and/or a rate of filling of the breastfeeding event. The user device receives the second data in the form of additional breastfeeding information from the user.

  • Publication number: 20220022842
Abstract: A system for determining a volume of breastmilk ingested by a baby, e.g., an infant, during a breastfeeding session includes an ultrasound source configured to transmit ultrasonic waves to a stomach of the baby; an ultrasound sensor configured to receive ultrasonic echoes generated by reflection of the ultrasonic waves from the stomach; and a processor configured to detect a boundary of the stomach and a level of a liquid surface within the stomach based on the received ultrasonic echoes, and determine a volume ingested into the stomach during the breastfeeding session based on the detected boundary of the stomach and the detected level of the liquid surface. Ultrasound measurements during a breastfeeding session are not affected by natural processes such as swallowing air, voiding during feedings, and spitting up, providing increased confidence to breastfeeding mothers. These measurements are also obtained non-invasively, providing minimal if any distraction to the feeding child.
