A winglet may be attached to one end of the body, and may include a portion having an airfoil shape in cross-section. The winglet may comprise a body including a mount for connecting to the fan blade. The body may further include a generally vertical portion having a. greater surface area, below the mount than above the mount. The body may have a portion angled in both a vertical direction and in plan view, such as along a leading edge, trailing edge, or both. The fan blade may be extruded from aluminum.
