  • Publication number: 20200254965
Abstract: A system for determining seatbelt routing. The system includes a seatbelt retractor, a guide loop, a seatbelt latchplate, a seatbelt buckle, a seatbelt buckle sensor, a first RFID tag, RFID reader, and a control module. The seatbelt retractor stores a length of seatbelt webbing. The guide loop changes a routing direction of the seatbelt webbing. The seatbelt latchplate is engaged with the seatbelt webbing. The seatbelt buckle is secured to the motor vehicle and engages the latchplate. The seatbelt buckle sensor for detects the presence of the latchplate in the seatbelt buckle. The first RFID tag is attached to the seatbelt webbing of the seatbelt. The RFID reader detects the presence of the first RFID tag. The control module determines the seatbelt routing based on whether the seatbelt is buckled and the detection of the first RFID tag by the RFID reader.

  • Patent number: 10647222
Abstract: A system to limit adjustment capabilities of a vehicle seat, the system including: a controller; a camera located in a vehicle configured to record images of a visual content, where the visual content is at least a portion of the vehicle seat; the vehicle seat being capable of being remotely controlled to be adjusted between an upright arrangement and a folded arrangement; a sensor configured to produce an output when a seatbelt tongue is inserted into a corresponding seatbelt buckle; where executable instructions enable the controller to: operate the camera to record images of the visual content; determine whether an object exists in the visual content; determine whether the sensor has produced an output; and when at least one object exists in the visual content or the sensor has produced an output, limit the vehicle seat adjustment capabilities such that the vehicle seat is restricted to the upright arrangement.

  • Patent number: 10293782
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a seatbelt reminder are provided. The method includes determining whether a seat is occupied, in response to determining that the seat is occupied, determining whether a seatbelt corresponding to the seat is buckled, in response to determining that the seatbelt corresponding to the seat is unbuckled, determining whether a latch anchor corresponding to the seat is engaged, and in response to determining that the latch anchor corresponding to the seat is unengaged, outputting a seatbelt reminder notification.
