    Abstract: Provided is a shaped-beam antenna having a multi-layered conductive element array surrounded by a dielectric ring. The shaped-beam antenna includes: a planar excitation element having a radiation structure according to a required polarization; a multi-layered conductive element array disposed on the planer excitation element, wherein the multi-layered conductive element array is formed by layering conductive elements at an arbitrary interval; and a dielectric ring surrounding the multi-layered conductive element array at a predetermined separation distance therefrom. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the entire size of the shaped-beam antenna and manufacturing costs thereof.

    Abstract: Provided is a planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) which has a Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) feeding structure and can be attached to a metal surface, and an RFID tag using the same. The PIFA includes a radiation patch layer; a Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) feeding layer; a feeding probe; and a short-circuit. The CPW feeding layer includes a feeding means and a ground surface. The feeding probe electrically connects the radiation patch layer and the feeding means and provides a Radio Frequency (RF) signal to be radiated to the radiation patch layer. The short-circuiting means short-circuits the radiation patch layer and the ground surface through the dielectric layer. The PIFA can be applied to a passive RFID tag. Impedance matching between the antenna and the RFID chip is possible. Also, the PIFA can easily control resonant frequency of the antenna and reactance.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for measuring inverse scattering wave, which includes installing a scattering object which is a test object in a coupler, feeding an electrical signal to an input terminal of the coupler, terminating an output terminal and an isolation terminal of the coupler so that the electrical signal scattered by colliding with the scattering object is transmitted to a coupling terminal of the coupler, and measuring intensity of the electrical signal transmitted to the coupling terminal. In addition, provided is an apparatus for identifying an inferior Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) transponder and an inferior RFID reader by using the method for measuring the inverse scattering wave. Accordingly, the installation cost thereof is reduced. Furthermore, the facilities for the measurement can be installed in a narrow space, and the measurement can be done regardless of an external electromagnetic wave environment.
