Abstract: A message, method and system for processing rights object (RO) in a DRM system are disclosed. A message for requesting submission or return of an unused/partially consumed rights object (RO) is newly defined. When an authenticated device generates such a request message and transmits it to a right issuer (RI), the RI checks whether there exists an ID of a receiving device in the request message. If an ID of a receiving device exists in the request message, the RI performs a procedure for submitting the RO to the ID of the receiving device. If, however, the ID of the receiving device does not exist, the RI performs a procedure of returning of the RO or issuing of a different RO. Accordingly, the unused RO or partially consumed RO can be returned or submitted to a different device by using the request message.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method for displaying executable functions are disclosed. A plurality of rotatable three-dimensional polyhedral icons is displayed on a touch screen display. Executable functions are assigned to the faces of the three-dimensional polyhedral icons, and at least two faces are visible. A polyhedral icon may be selected and continuously rotated about its horizontal and vertical axes to display other faces, and the executable function on the face parallel to the plane of the display may be executed, thereby providing a convenient way to access executable functions of a mobile terminal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing digital rights managements (DRM) contents having advertisement (AD) contents attached thereto in a DRM system are disclosed. When DRM contents including AD contents are selected by a DRM device, a rights issuer (RI) receives the AD contents and the DRM contents from a contents issuer (CI), generates a multipart contents format file, and downloads it to the DRM device. Then, the DRM device decodes the downloaded multipart contents format file to check whether the multipart contents format file includes AD contents-attached DRM contents, and if so, the DRM device reproduces the AD contents to use the DRM contents free of cost. Thus, the DRM contents can be provided to a user by using the AD contents without causing a burden of a charge.
