  • Patent number: 4459087
Abstract: A fan unit for cooling an internal combustion engine comprising a fan impeller associated with a coaxial channel for guiding the air travelling through said impeller and an electric driving motor of DC type. The channel is fixed to the ends of the blades of the impeller and rotates with the impeller and itself constitutes the rotor of the electric motor whose stator coaxially surrounds at least a part of the channel. The stator is rigid with a fixed shaft around which the impeller rotates. This fan unit has a high permeability when inoperative so that it is particularly adapted for use in an automobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4459521
Abstract: In this control box, a first switching device (R-1) is actuated when the operator acts on a selector (1) whereby he can choose, on one hand, the direction of the driving of the motor (9) and, on the other hand, by means of a brief or prolonged action, the driving speed of this motor. If the action is prolonged, the switching device (R-1) is inhibited by a second switching device (R-2) controlled by a timing circuit (27) which was initiated at the start of the action. This second switching device then supplies power to the motor (9) through a series resistor (18) so long as the selector (1) is actuated. Application in an electric window raiser of an automobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4454776
Abstract: The device controls an actuating device having a linear displacement and a sudden action, for example a device actuating a latch. The actuating device is disposed in a case provided with an aperture through which it is capable of emerging under the action of a spring after the release of a locking device until it abuts against an element connected to the case. Provided inside the case is a wheel actuated by an electric motor and a device for driving under the action of the wheel the displacement of the actuating device in opposition to the action of the spring at least until the return movement of the actuating device is locked by the locking device. A device is also provided in the case for unlocking the locking device upon the subsequent rotation of the wheel. A device is provided in the case for interrupting the supply of current to the motor and consequently stopping the rotation of the wheel after the locking of the operating device by the locking device but before the unlocking of the locking device.

  • Patent number: 4378760
Abstract: The device comprises a temperature sensor placed in contact with a heat-carrying fluid circulating in the engine and a control device responsive to the sensor for the purpose of supplying power to the motor or motors driving the ventilator or ventilators in accordance with variations in the temperature of the heat-carrying fluid. The temperature sensor comprises a component which is sensitive to a continuous range of temperatures and this component is connected, as an input element, to a continuous regulating loop regulating the power supplied to the motor or motors. This loop comprises a threshold circuit which determines the lower value of the temperature range.

  • Patent number: 4328451
Abstract: The device comprises for each window an electric driving motor and a selector which is adapted to ensure the selective supply of current to the motor, in one direction or the other, through a control circuit acting on a supply source. The supply source is of the type capable of delivering at least two distinct energy levels. The control circuit comprises means for applying to an input of the supply source an energy level control signal which produces, as a function of the position of the selector, the application of a torque to the motor when raising the window which is higher than the torque applied when descending the window.

  • Patent number: 4188303
Abstract: The invention relates to electrical insulators having increased resistance to partial discharges and electrical equipment comprising such electrical insulators. These electrical insulators are formed of a macromolecular material in which is incorporated a chelate which is a derivative of an organic compound of general formula: ##STR1## wherein: R is CH.sub.2 COOM or --OH,M is Na or H,x is an integer from 1 to 4,n is an integer from 0 to 4,the metal chelate being present in the material in an amount sufficient for promoting the extinction of partial discharges, said amount not exceeding a value which would alter the physical properties of the insulator such as the volume resistivity thereof.
