    Abstract: Automatic volumetric apparatus for taking samples of fluid material, in particular in granular or powdered form, contained in a sampling zone, such as a hopper, where it is stored, either during treatment, or during conveyance, comprising a horizontal cylindrical probe having a longitudinal recess of trapezoidal section for the removal of a predetermined volume of material from the sampling zone, the probe being mounted to move inside a fixed closure member constituted by a sleeve co-axial to the probe. A drive unit drives the probe axially between a retracted position in which the recess is located in a discharge zone and an extension position in which the recess is located in the sampling zone.
