  • Patent number: 4735263
Abstract: The flow control device for a steam circulating heat exchanger tube (2) comprises an insert (4), secured in the tube by expansion in a zone (9) near the end of the exchanger tube or of the tube sheet (1) orifice provided in lieu of said tube, and an orifice plate (7) made from an erosion-corrosion resistant metal and secured inside the insert upstream from the bulged zone (9) created by expansion, from the standpoint of fluid flow, said insert extending for a considerable length downstream from the orifice plate. The insert includes an upstream tubular member (5) made from a metal having a low yield strength but a high elastic elongation ratio and a downstream tubular member (6) made from a metal resistant to erosion-corrosion and at least as long as ten times its inside diameter, ending in a bevel (12) tapering outwardly at an angle of less than 15.degree..

  • Patent number: 4465127
Abstract: A vertical heat exchanger adapted to be located between a primary liquid alkali metal circuit and a secondary liquid alkali metal circuit in a fast neutron nuclear reactor is disclosed. The exchanger includes an outer sleeve surrounding an annular tubular bundle on an axial conduit for introduction of the secondary liquid alkali metal in the tubes through a chamber provided in the bottom of the exchanger. The bottom of the exchanger is surrounded by an envelope defining a space in which the primary liquid alkali metal circulates between an annular opening provided at the periphery of the tubular plate carrying the tubular bundle and at least one output opening in the bottom of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4460539
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device providing anti-seismic support for an apparatus immersed in the bath of liquid alkali metal surrounding a fast neutron nuclear reactor, and abutting by a flange on a slab traversed by the apparatus and resistant to the load that it constitutes, wherein the flange for supporting the apparatus is connected to a sleeve for elastically taking up the horizontal displacements of its top part, independently of an inner envelope of the apparatus and on which a framework for supporting the apparatus whose bottom part is connected to the inner envelope, is fixed at a level determined as a function of the most dangerous earth tremor frequencies.

  • Patent number: 4283206
Abstract: A component for de-spinning a flow of dry vapor or gas and for separating liquid from the vapor or gas, said component including an outer vertical tube (4) for admission of a mixture of the vapor or gas and a liquid for separation which mixture is caused to spin and flow downwards. The component further comprises a coaxial inner tube (1) for collecting dry vapor or gas, provided with means (2) for de-spinning the flow of said dry vapor or gas, the lower edge of the outer tube being at a level lower than that of the upper edge of the inner tube. There are orifices formed in the periphery of the lower edge of the outer tube whose width decreases upwards, and parts for de-spinning the liquid which drops by gravity along the wall of the outer tube. Application to wet steam separators.

  • Patent number: 4014671
Abstract: A device for separating drops of liquid from a stream of gas or steam comprises a closed casing having a horizontal inlet and an outlet respectively having their openings in two compartments separated by a vertical grid, a deflecting nozzle in coaxial relation with the inlet and providing a slit leading to a gap external of the nozzle forming part of a first collecting chamber which communicates with a reservoir, a cusped inner shell cooperating with the nozzle coaxially and provided with a trailing edge forming a slit with an overlapping edge of a second collecting chamber which also communicates with the reservoir, and means for the fine separation of liquid known in the prior art which are placed between the vertical grid and the outlet.
