    Abstract: The invention concerns the measurement of one or two components of the speed vector of a gas flow, in particular the projection in one plane of this vector.The device comprises a section of conducting wire brought to a high electrical potential by a high voltage source. This wire is surrounded by one or two pairs of conductors. The conductors of each pair being arranged symmetrically in relation to the wire. The difference in voltage between the two conductors of each pair is determined to provide the speed and the direction of the flow of gas.
