  • Publication number: 20050031825
Abstract: A method is provided for splicing a conveyor belt having vulcanized rubber with steel strands embedded in the vulcanized rubber, comprising the steps of exposing a plurality of strands at two belt ends, and applying a vulcanizable rubber composition to the exposed strands to form a spliced joint between the two belt ends, the vulcanizable rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of rubber, and the rubber comprising from about 1 to about 20 parts by weight of syndiotactic polybutadiene.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: February 10, 2005
    Inventors: Terry Allen, Jean Bergh
  • Patent number: 6070630
Abstract: The invention relates to a rubber tire composed of carbon black reinforced rubber carcass and having a rubber tread which is composed of a unitary, co-extrusion of tread cap, base and miniwings and, wherein a portion of the miniwings extend as a thin layer over a portion of the tread cap's outer surface to create a path of reduced electrical resistivity.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6022922
Abstract: The invention relates to a tire with a tread which is reinforced with a quantitative amount of silica, including a silica coupler, where the tread rubbers are of a blend comprised of styrene/isoprene/butadiene terpolymer rubber and cis 1,4-polybutadiene rubber or styrene/isoprene/butadiene terpolymer rubber, cis 1,4-polybutadiene rubber and isoprene/butadiene copolymer rubber. Optionally, the rubber blend can contain a minor amount of cis 1,4-polyisoprene natural rubber.
