  • Patent number: 4944374
Abstract: The invention relates to a clutch of the kind comprising a coupling element (33) which acts like a piston, and a clutch plate coupled with the coupling element to permit the latter to be driven in rotation. In order to drive the coupling element (33) positively in rotation in both directions, the clutch plate (35) has in combination two groups of tongue or strip portions (48T, 48R), which extend in opposite circumferential directions and which are associated in the sense that each strip portion of one group is paired with a strip portion of the other group, a strip portion (48T) of the first group being continuous with a strip portion (48R) of the second group.

  • Patent number: 4667470
Abstract: A transmission system comprises an annular input member adapted to be keyed at least circumferentially to a first shaft. This input member has a generally cylindrical axial wall and a generally transverse radial wall. A movement take-up device within the cylindrical wall has an input part by which it is keyed axially and circumferentially to the input member and adapted to be at least circumferentially keyed to a second shaft. The input part bears axially on the transverse wall. At least one dog is attached to the cylindrical wall and has at least one of its two lateral edges generally transversely disposed relative to the axis of the system and converging towards its other lateral edge in the direction towards the transverse wall. A notch in part of the input part is complementary to and interlocked with the aforementioned dog.

  • Patent number: 4406355
Abstract: A transmission is disclosed comprising a hydraulic coupling and a lock-up clutch, a tubular distributor slide valve element provides permanent communication between the hydraulic coupling member and an inlet conduit and controls fluid flow between the inlet conduit and a clutch control chamber for operating the lock-up clutch. The distributor valve member comprises two relative large diameter portion therebetween. In the closed position of the distributor valve member the control chamber is brought into communication with an outlet conduit for returning the fluid from the control chamber to a storage tank.
