  • Patent number: 4575183
Abstract: The present invention concerns a multi-fiber optical connection endpiece, an optical fiber connector using such an endpiece, as well as an apparatus for mounting fibers in the said endpiece. This connector comprises a reference plane of the connection and two cylindrical measuring rods substantially perpendicular to this plane. Each endpiece comprises an endpiece reference plane of the endpiece bearing on the connection reference plane and two V-shaped channel grooves on its rear face from where issue fibers situated at a precise coordinate with respect to the endpiece reference plane. The endpieces are aligned when the V-shaped grooves abut on either side of the measuring rods.

  • Patent number: 4300815
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of connectors for optical monofibres. In the case where the monofibre (1) is covered by a flexible sheath or envelope (3), the fixing in a connector end fitting may suffer from poor concentricity. According to the invention, a deformable cylinder (4) is placed round the fibre and to said cylinder are applied forces (P) balanced in four perpendicular directions transmitted to the flexible sheath (3) of the fibre by four, internal clamping jaws (31), which bring about a spontaneous recentering of the fibre by the creep or flow thereof. The cylinder is then placed in the end fitting. The applications relate more particularly to optical fibres with plastic sheaths for telecommunications purposes.

  • Patent number: 4296997
Abstract: In order to make a connection between the fibers of an optical transmission line, the end portion of each fiber is centered in a connector terminal by means of a reference dihedron. The terminal is applied against the faces of the dihedron at one end. The other end of the dihedron is fitted with a set of two packing-blocks and two cylinders for positioning the optical fiber in the bisecting plane in a direction parallel to the edge of the dihedron. The fiber is finally fixed in position by means of a suitable adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4139260
Abstract: This invention provides an optical fibers bundles connector comprising a male member and a female member which can be plugged into one another. In one of these members is included a single fiber of the same diameter as the bundles which are to be connected, which distributes the luminous flux issuing from the emitter bundle to the receiver bundle. An embodiment having the external dimensions of "Socapex 072 NX 65" electrical connectors is specially described.

  • Patent number: 3950095
Abstract: A flat rectangular workpiece, such as a photographic plate in a photo-repeating apparatus designed to produce integrated-circuit masks, laterally overhangs a platform of a carriage which is slidable on a mobile supporting table. The platform has two end stops and a side stop defining the relative position of the workpiece thereon, the overhanging edges of the workpiece entering between upper and lower jaws of three grippers -- one on one side and two on the other -- when the carriage is slid into a working position. The lower gripper jaws, constituted by spring-loaded plungers normally held down by suction, are then released to lift the workpiece off the platform while clamping it against the overlying upper jaws.
