  • Patent number: 4421669
Abstract: Process for the stabilization of particles containing peroxygen compounds and bleaching compositions containing particles stabilized according to this process. The particles containing peroxygen compounds are kept in a fluidized bed. A coating agent which is insoluble in water and melts at low temperatures is introduced in the form of solid particles into the fluidized bed. The fluidized bed is kept at a temperature at least equal to the melting point of the coating agent.

  • Patent number: 4329244
Abstract: Particles of peroxygenated compounds stabilized with polymers, possessing hydroxyl groups and carboxyl groups, which contain monomeric units of the formula ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent hydrogen or an alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and where M represents hydrogen, an alkali metal atom or an alkaline earth metal atom M-. The particles can be used in compositions having a bleaching action.

  • Patent number: 4215097
Abstract: Abrasion resistant granules of sodium perborate monohydrate are made by introducing an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide and an aqueous solution containing sodium metaborate simultaneously into a fluidized bed dryer which contains seeds of a size smaller than that of the desired granules. At least one surface active agent is introduced into at least one of the aqueous solutions containing hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate. Water present in the aqueous solutions is evaporated by fluidization gas which is introduced into the fluidized bed dryer. The process produces, in one stage, granules of sodium perborate monohydrate having a high rate of dissolution, good flowability, abrasion resistance, and other desirable properties.

  • Patent number: 4185960
Abstract: Superoxidized solid sodium perborate contains more than 17 wt.% active oxygen and less than 1.4 atoms hydrogen per active oxygen atom. The superoxidized solid sodium perborate in particle form is prepared by simultaneously introducing, into a fluidized bed dryer containing seeds of dimensions smaller than those of the perborate particles which are to be obtained, an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide in concentrations above 30 wt.% and an aqueous solution containing sodium metaborate in such quantities that the molar ratio between the hydrogen peroxide and the sodium metaborate introduced into the fluidized bed is above 1.12. The water present in the aqueous solutions is evaporated by means of a fluidizing gas.

  • Patent number: 4005136
Abstract: Granules of ammonium or alkali metal poly-.alpha.-hydroxyacrylates having an apparent specific gravity of between 0.35 and 0.55 kg/dm.sup.3 and an ability to flow, expressed by the time taken for a weight of 250 g to flow through the 16 mm diameter orifice of an analysis funnel with a short stem, not exceeding 10 seconds are disclosed. • Patent number: 3992317
Abstract: Particulate peroxygen compounds such as sodium percarbonate are coated with a copolymer of vinylidene chloride and another copolymerizable monomer. These coated compounds can be used in detergent mixtures. The coating of peroxygen compound with such films protect the compound from the effect of decomposition by wet air during storage while it permits liberation of the peroxygen compound in an aqueous washing solution.
