    Abstract: Thioformamide derivatives of formula: ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or alkyl (1 to 4 C), R.sub.1 is alkyl (1 to 4 C), and X denotes sulphur or oxygen and Y is sulphur, oxygen, methylene radical, or, when X is oxygen, a valency bond, are inhibitors of gastric secretion and therefore useful in the treatment of gastric ulcers. They may be made by reaction of an amine R--NH.sub.
