    Abstract: A process for rapid and uniform cooling of glass comprising introducing it into a fluidized bed of particles under conditions such that heat is transferred from the glass to the fluidized material. The fluidized material comprises particles which can be caused to undergo endothermic change by heating them to a temperature lower than the temperature of the glass as it enters the fluidized bed.
