  • Patent number: 5263905
Abstract: The invention provides an arrangement for driving in rotation two transmission shafts (18) of a motor-driven road vehicle, each connected to a wheel of the same axle, characterised in that each of the two transmission shafts (18) is connected to the engine unit (10) of the vehicle by means of a device (22) allowing a variable slip between its input member (40) and its output member (36), and means for controlling the two variable-slip devices (22), which regulate the rotational speeds of the two transmission shafts in order to keep these speeds within a specific range of relative variation.

  • Patent number: 4908005
Abstract: An axially retained homokinetic joint comprises an element in the form of a tripod (20) connected to one (22) of two shafts to be coupled and a tulip element (42) connected to the other (34, 134) of the two shafts, the tripod element comprising three trunnions (26a) on which are rotatively and slidably mounted rollers (36a) received in three rolling tracks (40) formed in the tulip element, and are an axial retainer (44) for maintaining the two parts of the joint in position relative to each other. The axial retainer comprises an intermediate member (44) connected to the tulip element (42) and cooperating with the tripod element (20) by means of a connection enabling the latter to move in a plane at right angle to its axis (X--X). The rolling tracks (40) consist of tracks of substantially toroidal shape in which run rollers whose outer surface is spherical.

  • Patent number: 4069650
Abstract: The crop gathering reel of a combine is mounted on a pair of reel support arms each in the form of a hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly having widely spaced load-bearing lands which enable the arms to withstand the bending loads arising from supporting the reel in cantilever fashion while permitting adjustment of the reel position forwards and rearwards.

  • Patent number: 4008624
Abstract: A synchronizing mechanism for change speed gears using a friction energized synchronizer ring which is operable through stop and locking members to prevent collapse of the synchronizer ring until synchronism occurs, also employs a cup member to contain the synchronizer ring for the purpose of freeing the same from adverse frictional effects.
