    Abstract: A thermostatic single-control cartridge is provided with ceramic discs with a member for controlling a flow rate and a temperature of a mixed fluid by moving a thermostatic element, thus adjusting the temperature of the mixed fluid between end adjustment positions, an overtravel spring inserted between a regulating slide valve and the thermostatic element being compressed by an overtravel between the end adjustment positions. A retractable blocking system temporarily blocks the temperature adjustment of the mixed fluid in intermediate position of the control member between the end adjustment positions, so as to cut the overtravel in half in the intermediate position.

    Abstract: A device, which can be used in the cooling circuits of internal combustion engines comprises a chamber (3) having at least three ports (4, 5, 6) two of which can be closed off by valves (9, 10) carried by a main thermostatic element (7) housed partially in the chamber. One valve moves away from its seat when the other moves towards its own seat. A pipe (1) entering the chamber (3) via one of the two seats contains a thermostatic threshold-setting element (17) carrying a moveable compensator (21) provided with a moveable stop (16) for the main thermostatic element (7). The thermostatic setting element (17) has an electrical heater which can be connected to an electrical power supply that can be selectively activated and deactivated in order, when deactivated, to decrease the distance between the stop (16) and the seat (14) in the pipe and thus the temperature for which this seat is released.

The side wall of the cap has flats or depressions around the cap and which extend in the longitudinal direction of the cap and which delimit an inner space. The cross section of the inner space, the length over which the flats or depressions extend, has a lobed shape, and an insert accommodated and fixed in the cap extends in the longitudinal direction of the latter.

The invention can be used in particular in water-distribution installations.

A region of the thermostat is housed in a piston having a part which is guided by a reversibly releasable guide mechanism adapted to guide the piston as long as the valve for shutting off the flow of hot water is not in contact with its seat, to eliminate the guidance when the valve bears on the seat, to allow misalignment of the piston, of the thermostat and of the slide so that the valve is pressed against and sealed to the seat, and to re-establish the guidance when the valve leaves its seat.
