  • Patent number: 6850851
Abstract: An electric field emitted by an electronic equipment is measured by producing at least one radiation measurement in the radiating field of the equipment. Several sets of simultaneous near-field measurements, within a measuring surface located at a short distance from the equipment, are performed. The sets of performed measurements are processed by estimating the statistical properties of the radiated field at any point outside the measuring surface.

  • Patent number: 6424597
Abstract: This transducer comprises means (16 to 24, 56 to 60) for determining the respective positions of ultrasound emitting elements (6) with respect to an object to be inspected (8) during displacement of the transducer. Means (62) generate pulses exciting emitting elements, and create delay laws starting from determined positions enabling emitting elements to generate a focused ultrasonic beam (F), and apply these laws to the excitation pulses. Ultrasound receiving elements provide signals used to form images related to the object. Application to medicine and nondestructive testing.

  • Patent number: 5430369
Abstract: An antenna (3) charged by a diode (4) is arranged at each of the points of a surface (30). The source (1) and a collecting antenna (5) are arranged on the same side of this surface, in the vicinity of each other. A layer (32) of absorbent material is provided, one face of which fits the shape of the surface (30) and is arranged on the side of said surface (30) opposite that of the source (1) and of the collecting antenna (5). An addressing circuit (33) of the diodes (4) which fits the shape of the other face of the absorbent layer (32) is connected, via connections which pass through said layer (32) perpendicular to the surface (30), to each of the diodes (4). The use of the modulated diffusion method permits the measurement of the near field radiated by a transmission antenna or diffracted by an object illuminated by a microwave radiation.

  • Patent number: 5410324
Abstract: A compact range for the determination of the radiation pattern of a first antenna (1), comprises a focusing system (3) and apparatus (2) supporting the first antenna in the quiet zone of the focusing system. For that purpose, the base comprises a modulated-retransmission probe array (6, 16) mounted in the focal plane (7) of the focusing system, a second antenna (10, 17) mounted near the probe array, apparatus (13) to determine, from the electromagnetic radiation retransmitted by the probe array and collected by one of the antennas during the transmission of electromagnetic radiation by the other, a signal SI representing the field at each point of the probe array, and a display (14) for displaying the signal.

  • Patent number: 5128621
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring, at a plurality of points, the microwave field diffracted by an object. A microwave radiation source illuminates an object. Electric doublet antennae loaded by diodes are disposed in line along the path of the radiation diffracted by the object. A guide structure, with coupling antennae, is disposed along the line of doublet antennae and collects the diffracted radiation. Electronic circuits control the whole so as to measure the diffracted field at the position of each doublet antenna.

  • Patent number: 5051748
Abstract: A transmitting antenna radiates a micro-wave field through an opening in the form of a rectangular wave-guide applied against the separation surface between a first medium, in which it is located, and a second medium, in which an object is buried. The micro-wave radiation reflected by the object is collected through the opening of a receiving antenna, also in the form of a rectangular wave-guide, applied against the radiating opening of the transmitting antenna. The collected radiation is measured at a series of points by means of pinpoint antennae located in the collecting opening. Thanks to the antennae arrangement, the collected radiation can be used as such, without having to subtract therefrom the result of a reference measurement. The invention can be used particularly to obtain, non destructively, images of metal bars buried in reinforced concrete.

  • Patent number: 4870423
Abstract: A method and device are provided for focusing the antennae of an array on a point to be examined. Each microwave signal received by an array antenna is subjected to amplitude modulation by means of a phase shifted low frequency modulation signal. The modulated signals are summed and the result of the summation is subjected to microwave detection then to low frequency demodulation by means of the modulation signal. The focusing point depends on the phase law by which the modulation signal is phase shifted so as to obtain each phase shifted modulation signal.

  • Patent number: 4552151
Abstract: This invention relates to a process and means for rapid microwave imaging using UHF waves transmitted by an antenna toward a body to be scanned. According to the invention, body O to be scanned is placed in front of a transmitting antenna A and various signals forming the various points of the image are analyzed in a collector-unit RC consisting of a diode-conductor panel 1 and a wave-guide stack 2 and are then transmitted to a receiver R.
