  • Patent number: 5439079
Abstract: This drum-brake device is equipped with an automatic clearance adjustment device comprising a click (12) actuating a toothed wheel (11) whose rotation gives rise to the lengthening of a spacer (9) disposed between two brake segments (1) and (2). The click is controlled by a linkage (16, 17, 18) sensitive to any relative motion of the shoes.

  • Patent number: 5137126
Abstract: The invention concerns an electromechanical control having a centrifugal structure comprising a shaft (22) driven in rotation by an electric motor (20) and defining an axis, at least two flyweights (38) capable of moving under the effect of a centrifugal force between a plate (34) and a disk (32), the plate (34) being able to be driven in rotation by the shaft, and a wedge device (12). According to the invention, the shaft (22) is mounted movably in axial translation to drive in translation the wedge device (12), and the plate (34) is axially fixed whereas the disk (32), which solidly fixed to an axial sleeve (30) forming, with the end (24) of the shaft (22), a lockable screw-nut assembly, is capable of axial translation and can be driven in rotation by the shaft (22), the radial position of the flyweights (38) determining the separation of the disk (32) and the plate (34). Application to the braking of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5012903
Abstract: The invention relates to an automatically adjustable spacer for a drum brake, comprising essentially a first part (10) bearing at one of its ends on a first shoe (3), a second part (16) bearing at the opposite end on the second shoe (2), the first and second parts (10, 16) being mounted slidably longitudinally relative to one another, a locking element (30), at least part of the periphery of which has a toothing, mounted movably on one of the first and second parts and capable of meshing with a corresponding toothing (28) provided opposite it on part of the periphery of the other of the first and second parts, so as to define a device for the automatic extension of the spacer as a function of the wear of the friction elements.

  • Patent number: 4974708
Abstract: The invention relates to a drum brake with two shoes, each having a web (16) and a rim (18), of which the face confronting the drum receives a friction lining (20). The drum brake is arranged on a supporting plate (10) and also includes a mechanical control lever (34) comprising a body of considerable length and of small thickness in relation to its width, the body having, at a first end (36), an orifice (38) intended for receiving an articulated connection with the web (16) of one of the shoes (14) at an intermediate point near the orifice, and a notch intended for interacting with a spacer (62) making it possible to subject the shoes (12, 14) to a stress moving them away from one another, and at the second end (40), a fastening point for an actuating cable (54) of the lever. The cable is equipped with a ferrule (60) at its end interacting with the lever.

  • Patent number: 4828330
Abstract: Assembly consisting of a suspension element (20) and of a brake corrector (10) intended to be subject to the load of a vehicle, the corrector (10) comprising a body in which slides a piston (12) forming a shutter element capable of opening or closing a hydraulic passage between an inlet (14) and an outlet (16) of the corrector, the piston (12) being connected by a connection mechanism to a spring mechanism (23) of the suspension element (20), characterized in that the connection mechanism comprises a lever (24) mounted on the suspension element (20) between two pivoting elements (28; 32) which are subjected to the force exerted by the suspension element (20) and which are arranged so as to transmit some of the force to the lever (24).

  • Patent number: 4515249
Abstract: The spring (1), for a disc brake of the type incorporating a calliper (10) sliding on a fixed support (12) and two friction pads (18) anchored and able to slide axially in an opening of the fixed support and the calliper incorporating an arched portion (25) having an opening (26) passing through, incorporates two hoops (2) each extended by first (3) and second (4) feet cooperating with seats formed on the inner face of the arch (25) of the calliper, the first feet (3) being joined to one another by a tiebar (6) connected to the first feet by loops (7) and bearing against an angled seat defined on the upper edge of the pads (18) by a central projection (30) on the latter. The spring (1), made advantageously of stainless steel wire, pushes elastically the friction pads tangentially and radially towards the axis of the disc.
