  • Publication number: 20020132593
Abstract: A system for providing a mobile telephone service on board a vehicle is connected to a public land mobile network via a satellite and can set up at least one transport connection between the vehicle and the public land mobile network before receiving a call request and then use the transport connection for a call as soon as a request to set up a call is received.

  • Patent number: 6393300
Abstract: Apparatus for connecting telephone switch to fixed telephone network or PSTN via a radiotelephone network of GSM type or type derived therefrom. A fixed radiotelephone terminal (RT) has a processor that identifies calls containing an identity belonging to a predetermined set of international mobile subscriber identities (IMSIs), and calls containing an identity belonging to a predetermined set of temporary mobile subscriber identities (TMSIs), both of the sets corresponding to user terminals (UT1, . . . , UT10) which are connected to the switch. The radiotelephone network issues a distinct invoice for each user terminal (UT1, . . . , UT10) even though the same fixed radiotelephone terminal (RT) is used by a plurality of different users, and the radiotelephone network can perform direct inward dialing to each user terminal (UT1, . . . , UT10).

  • Patent number: 6360096
Abstract: In a GSM type system, home location register resets after some incidents are programmed from a back-up register. The invention proposes that mobile service switching centers create a difference between two classes of update requests which they send to the home location register in two different situations. In the first class a message following a change of area by a mobile station takes priority. In the second class a message follows a home location register reset and tends to (frequently unnecessarily) re-establish the conformity of the data in the home location register and in the visitor location registers of the centers. The second class is assigned a low priority level which prevents problems with the availability of the home location register. Application to telephony.

  • Patent number: 6337986
Abstract: A system that forwards a call addressed to one of a plurality of user terminals and contains a directory number of the called user terminal to a mobile service switching center giving access to the called user terminal. The system sends to the mobile service switching center an IAM message containing the directory number of the called user terminal. The mobile service switching center supplies the directory number to a radiotelephone terminal as a SETUP message. The fixed radiotelephone terminal extracts the directory number of the called user terminal from the SETUP message received for setting up each call, and sends said number to the switch in the form of a conventional signaling message.

  • Patent number: 6311073
Abstract: A system includes: a plurality of fixed radiotelephone terminals connected to a telephone switch serving user terminals; call forwarding circuitry for forwarding a call addressed to one of the user terminals to a mobile service switching center managing the radiotelephone terminals, and providing access to the called user terminal, the forwarded call containing the identity of the called user terminal and containing the identity of the fixed radiotelephone terminal that is the first available in a list of radiotelephone terminals associated with the identity of the called user terminal; and, circuitry situated in the switching center to forward the call to a second fixed radiotelephone terminal designated by its international mobile subscriber identity number if the first terminal is busy. If the second terminal is busy, the switching center forwards the call to a third fixed radiotelephone terminal designated by its international mobile subscriber identity number.

  • Patent number: 6259921
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of routing a call between a first terminal which is a mobile terminal (5) and a second terminal (4) in a global telecommunications network, it being possible for the call to be routed in the global network a)—at least in part through a satellite telecommunications network (1) using base stations (2, 3) giving access to satellites, and b) —at least in part through a terrestrial telecommunications network (PSTN) connected to the base stations (2, 3), each satellite (1) in the satellite telecommunications network defining an overall coverage area covering a plurality of base stations, the overall coverage area defining a plurality of coverage sub-areas, each of which is associated with a respective one of the base stations (2, 3).

  • Patent number: 4290439
Abstract: A cleaning unit for cleaning mechanical parts and the like with a volatile solvent. The unit comprises a vertically moveable holder for the parts and a lower unit portion including apparatus for washing the parts. An upper unit portion is provided which includes apparatus for drying the parts by cooling. A unit portion is provided which includes apparatus for rinsing the parts. A cover is also provided which is connected to the holder such that when the holder is temporarily immobilized in either the lower unit portion or the unit portion including the rinsing apparatus the cover locks a passage extending between the portion and the portion directly thereabove in a non-sealing relationship.

  • Patent number: 3964056
Abstract: A system is disclosed for directing orders to peripheral devices in a data processing system having duplicate central control units. In the event one of the central control units loses access to a peripheral device, and therefore cannot transmit orders to that peripheral device, the system enables an alternative route through the other central control unit to the same peripheral device.
