  • Patent number: 4669954
Abstract: The present invention relates to abradable rings for turbines, wherein they are constituted by an abradable refractory material and are formed by at least one open ring maintained clamped against a fixed metallic structure with the aid of at least one spring, and to refractory materials which may be used for making said rings.

  • Patent number: 4647227
Abstract: Bearing for rotary shaft, of the type comprising at least one bearing element with a friction surface contacting with one external surface of the shaft. The bearing element comprises a bearing block on which is defined the friction surface and a support housing having an opening for receiving the block. The block and the housing are separated over the whole periphery of the opening by a gap, and joined together resiliently through the gap. The block and housing together define a closed cavity filled with a substantially incompressible fluid.

  • Patent number: 4617174
Abstract: The foam is produced by mixing an isocyanate with a polyalcohol from a tight storage tank with two compartments, each of which contains one of the aforementioned products, the upper part of the tank being provided with a solid propellant trip or starter, which generates a pressurization gas form the tank. In the lower part of the storage tank, there is a pressure threshold mixer, whose operation is automatically controlled by the pressure prevailing in the tank and which has a mixing chamber entered (under the effect of the same pressure) by the isocyanate and the polyol via lateral injection nozzles, which produce a rotation of the mixture, the polyols being previously emulsified by a neutral gas (such as air or nitrogen) from a pressurized storage container.

  • Patent number: 4406482
Abstract: An articulated pipe line comprising rigid sections jointed together so as to allow a limited angular movement between adjacent sections, the axis of two successive articulations having different directions and a sealing device ensuring a tight separation between the outside and the inside of the pipe line at the level of the articulation. This device is particularly suitable for immersed pipe lines of large diameter.

  • Patent number: 4009606
Abstract: A device for subjecting n (n .gtoreq. 1) test specimens to alternate tensile and compressive stresses comprises an excitation source having a horizontal axis of displacement and a guide rod which is capable of free translational displacement along a horizontal axis. The guide rod is rigidly fixed at one end to the exciter and provided at the other end with means for clamping the ends of n test specimens. A massive part is provided with nozzles for the injection of a gas under pressure and with n horizontal bearing blocks constituting gas bearings for n cylindrical and horizontal masses to which the other ends of the test specimens are secured.
