  • Patent number: 6991058
Abstract: The vehicle has two groups of displacement members (1, 2, 3, 4), one of which groups is steerable. The apparatus comprises a closed transmission circuit which includes a pump (50) and hydraulic motors (10, 20, 30, 40). A first group of motors that serves to drive two displacement members on the same axle comprises at least two double motors (30, 40), each having two operating cubic capacities forming two elementary motors (31, 32; 41, 42). The first elementary motor (31, 41) of each of the double motors is connected to the pump (50) in parallel with a motor (10, 20) of the other group, while the second elementary motor (32, 42) is connected in series with said motor of the other group. There thus exist first and second series ducts (C32, C42) between the motors.

  • Patent number: 6386307
Abstract: The apparatus comprises two hydraulic motors to which two displacement members in line are respectively coupled. Each of the motors has three main connections, namely one main connection that is common to both of its cylinder capacities, and two main connections, one for each of its two cylinder capacities. The first main connection of the first motor is connected to the fluid feed and the first main connection of the second motor is connected to the fluid return. The two main connections of the motors are interconnected. A selector having at least two positions is connected to the fluid feed, to the fluid return, and to the third main connection of at least one of the motors. For each of the two selector positions, the total cylinder capacity fed by the pump differs.

  • Patent number: 6354392
Abstract: Hydrostatic transmission apparatus for a vehicle having drivable front and rear wheels coupled to front and rear hydraulic motors. A group of motors comprises at least two motors coupled respectively to two wheels situated on either side of the vehicle. The other group of motors comprises at least one motor driving a wheel. The two motors of the first group are dual-capacity motors, each comprising a first elementary motor connected to the pump in parallel with a motor of the second group, and a second elementary motor which is connected in series with said motor of the second group. Two series pipes are thus defined. The apparatus comprises a selection valve connected to the two series pipes and to a port of the pump. This valve can take up a straight-ahead configuration in which the series pipes are isolated from the port of the pump, as well as a left-turn configuration and a right-turn configuration in which the series pipes are connected to said port.

  • Patent number: 6230829
Abstract: Each drivable axle of the apparatus has two hydraulic motors, one for each side of the vehicle. The apparatus includes two analogous closed transmission circuits, one for each side of the vehicle. The hydraulic motors of the second axle are dual-capacity motors having three main connections. In each closed circuit, the first main connection of the dual-capacity motor and the first main connection of the motor of the first axle are respectively connected continuously to each of the two ports of the pump of the circuit in question, and each circuit further includes a selector having at least two positions and disposed on interconnection ducts between the pump, the second and third main connections of the dual-capacity motor and the second main connection of the motor of the first axle.

  • Patent number: 6099273
Abstract: Pressurized fluid motor comprising a casing, a cylinder block, a cam, an internal fluid distributor and a selector. The bore of the selector has four grooves. Two of them are communication grooves each connected to a main (feed or exhaust) power duct and to a connection duct, the connection ducts being themselves connected to different groups of distribution ducts. The other two grooves of the bore are branch grooves respectively connected to an additional (feed or exhaust) power duct and to a third connection duct. The slide of the selector comprises at least a first selection groove which is adapted to establish communication between the two branch grooves. By modifying only the shape of the slide, and possibly that of the bore of the additional duct, the selector can provide different functions.

  • Patent number: 5120905
Abstract: An electrocarrier cable has conductor elements and support or carrier elements. The conductors are lapped on insulating cores and are enclosed in fluorinated sheaths to form conductor elements which are stranded to an elongated central core, preferably with interleaved support elements. A braid of relatively inextensible fibers, i.e., aramide fibers, encloses the conductor elements and is coated with a polyurethane sheath. The cable is arranged such that the aramide fibers fail in tension before the conductors fail, and is particularly useful in a self-supporting cable for carrying low level currents, such as in the field of oceanography.

  • Patent number: 4707977
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a composite cord, in particular for use in stringing tennis rackets, continuous fibers are twisted together while a liquid binder is applied between them. This occurs just before the fibers are twisted through a die which wipes the binder and forms a protective sheath. Cords are manufactured at reduced cost through the elimination of heating of the entire cord.

  • Patent number: 4643857
Abstract: A racket frame is formed from an elongate element produced by extrusion of a mixture of a thermoplastic material and carbon fibres. The element is bent while hot to form the racket head and has arms which are joined together by throat pieces, thereby forming the racket shaft. The throat pieces are formed by injection moulding. The elongate element preferably has at least one cavity extending along its length, the cavity being filled with foamed material of a density different from that of the elongate element so that the racket can have the desired weight. Preferably ropes of carbon fibres are included in the elongate element extending along its length. The aligned fibres give strength to the frame. In production of the frame the thermoplastic material may be extruded, cooled, have holes for strings formed in it, and then bent to shape or may be bent to shape immediately upon extrusion.
