  • Patent number: 10237730
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for encrypting communications using a secure element. An embodiment takes the form of a method including the steps of performing a key-exchange procedure with an endpoint via a voice-communication device to obtain a symmetric seed key for a secure voice session with the endpoint; generating first and second symmetric session keys for the secure voice session based on the obtained symmetric seed key; receiving outbound voice packets from the voice-communication device in connection with the secure voice session, each outbound voice packet including a header and an unencrypted payload; using a first symmetric encryption algorithm and the first symmetric session key, followed by a second symmetric encryption algorithm and the second symmetric session key to generate and output twice-encrypted outbound-voice-packet payloads to the voice-communication device for transmission to the endpoint in connection with the secure voice session.

  • Patent number: 9251391
Abstract: A method for continuous determination of a person's presence in a public transport conveyance is proposed, where a customer medium comprising an RF transceiver is assigned to the person, where at least one reading device per passenger compartment or car is provided for data communication with the customer media in the conveyance, which is connected to a computer serving as an on-board unit for the purpose of data communications, where these are also connected to each other in the case that several reading devices are provided, where an on-board unit serving as the main on-board unit is assigned to a passenger compartment or car if several passenger compartments or cars are present, and the other passenger compartments or cars are assigned to on-board units serving as secondary on-board units, which are connected to the main on-board unit for the purpose of data communication, where the customer medium is in a “sleep” mode upon entering the transport in order to keep energy consumption as low as possible.

  • Patent number: 4121136
Abstract: Apparatus for feeding a discharge lamp such as a mercury vapor lamp mounted in series with a choke from a direct current source comprising a chopper of direct current including an electronic switch and a detector of current intensity mounted in series with the choke. A first comparator compares the intensity of the current to a maximum level for opening the switch when the maximum level is reached and a second comparator compares the intensity of the current to a minimum value for closing the switch when the minimum value is reached. The lamp choke and current detector are connected in series with one another and a diode is mounted in parallel therewith and is oriented in the direction to pass current from the negative terminal towards the positive terminal of the direct current source.
