  • Patent number: 5664646
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc brake with a housing, at least one brake pad, a lever device with an eccentric consisting essentially of a shaft fitted with an actuating or rotating lever, and with a pressure member or eccentric follower. The eccentric has two bearing sections on either side of the rotating lever; the eccentric follower has a bolt engaging in the central threaded hole of a nut. Two lateral bearings on the nut receive the bearing sections of the eccentric. There are mechanisms for taking up wear which extend the eccentric follower according to the wear of the brake pad by screwing the bolt out of the nut.

  • Patent number: 5630350
Abstract: A pneumatic servo for assisting with braking. The servo has a casing with an axis of symmetry and is divided in a leaktight fashion by a movable wall structure into a front chamber which is permanently connected to a source of partial vacuum and a rear chamber connected selectively to the front chamber or to the surrounding environment by a three-way valve. The three-way valve is actuated by a plunger which slides in a bore in the movable wall in response to an axial control rod. The control rod is subjected to the action of a return spring located in an annular space between the control rod and a tubular part on the rear of the wall structure which extends or projects through the casing. The three-way valve being located in this tubular part and includes a shutter element which interacts via a first annular surface with a first valve seat formed on the plunger and via a second annular surface with a second valve seat formed on the movable wall.

  • Patent number: 5188201
Abstract: The disc brake comprises a rotary disc, a caliper (10) straddling the disc, mounted on a stationary support so as to be movable perpendicularly relative to the plane of the disc and carrying two friction elements which are arranged on either side of the disc and of which the first bears on the caliper and the second bears, for example by way of a rigid counterplate (13), on a threaded pusher (12), itself screwed in a piece mounted so as to form a device for the automatic compensation of wear, and having a head (8) interacting with a retention member (16) of a form matched to this head, in order to prevent any rotation of the head. The head (8) assumes the form of a notched wheel, and a prestressed elastic mechanism (19) fixed to the caliper (10) forces a projecting element (21, 25) of the retention member (16) to interact with at least one notch of the wheel (8).
