  • Publication number: 20140003071
Abstract: An optical device of an automotive vehicle comprises a first luminous source and a light duct designed to conduct light originating from the luminous source in the form of a beam with substantially parallel rays. The light duct comprises a rear face forming at least one reflecting facet designed to return some of the beam substantially along an optical axis (E) of the light duct. It also comprises a front face fashioned as at least one dioptric element associated optically with each reflecting facet and through which the light exits the light duct after return by the associated reflecting facet. Each dioptric element is configured so as to be stigmatic between a point in the substance of the light duct situated in immediate proximity to the center (Oi) of the associated reflecting facet and a point situated at infinity.

  • Patent number: 7354176
Abstract: The object of the invention is a method of fixing a outer lens to the housing of a lighting and/or signaling device for an automobile, the housing being provided, in the area of joining with the outer lens, with a bonding groove, a method during which adhesive which is not totally hardened is disposed in the said groove, the foot of the outer lens is inserted in a groove so that it is outer lens with adhesive over a sufficient height, the adhesive hardens in particular to fix the foot of the outer lens in the bonding groove. At least one step of temporary fixing of the outer lens to the housing is provided, after the insertion of the foot of the outer lens in the bonding groove and after any hardening of the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5322252
Abstract: In a pivoting mounting for an optical element of a motor vehicle headlamp, of the kind comprising a seating in which a ball head at the end of a retaining and/or adjusting bar or screw for the headlamp is received, the seating is defined by two cup elements shaped as half shells and together defining a substantially spherical cavity. This cavity is open to the outside through a flared aperture in the front face of the cup elements. The two cup elements are hinged together so as to open and close the cavity, and are provided with a snap-fitting device comprising, on one of the cup elements, a projecting tab having a finger pad and a locking shoulder for cooperation with a further locking shoulder formed on the other cup element. The rear of one of the cup elements is joined to a base member having a rear face from which snap-fitting means, in the form of mutually overlying pairs of snap catches, are carried.
