  • Patent number: 9947495
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an arc extinguishing chamber of an electrical circuit breaker, including an arc-forming chamber enclosing a fixed contact and a moving contact, which, at the time of their separation, form an arc between them, said forming chamber communicating with the input of an arc-quenching chamber comprising a stack of separators extending parallel to one another, and including a magnetic release situated on the side of the fixed and moving contacts and a switching horn situated on the opposite side, where the form of the separators varies progressively from one separator to the next, or by groups of identical separators from one group to another, or a mixture of both, in such a way that this form changes from the V having the largest opening surface area to the V having the smallest opening surface area, in the direction from the magnetic release to the switching horn.

  • Patent number: 9460870
Abstract: An arc extinguishing chamber includes an arc formation chamber containing a stationary contact and a movable contact which form an arc between them when separated. The arc formation chamber communicates with an inlet of a second chamber. A separating wall is placed in a volume downstream from said second chamber. The wall extends in the direction of the gas flow to partition the volume in the direction of the flow of the gases and exhaust outlets enabling the quenching gases to be removed outside of the apparatus. The separating wall(s) extend(s) in such a way as to partition in the direction of the flow to the outlets and to thereby form at least a first removal duct and a second removal duct, said ducts each being associated with an exhaust outlet and enabling a substantially complete separation to be achieved between a first flow and a second flow.

  • Publication number: 20160181034
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arc extinguishing chamber of an electrical circuit breaker, comprising an arc-forming chamber enclosing a fixed contact (2) and a moving contact (1), which, at the time of their separation, form an arc between them, said forming chamber communicating with the input of a second so-called arc-quenching chamber comprising a stack of separators (4) extending parallel to one another, this moving contact (1) extending substantially at right angles to the plane of the separators, so as to pull an arc between the contacts upon their separation, the initial direction of which is substantially parallel to said separators, these separators having, on the side of the moving contact, an opening intended to facilitate the insertion of the arc, said circuit breaker comprising a magnetic release situated on the side of the fixed and moving contacts and a switching horn situated on the opposite side.

  • Publication number: 20150053648
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arc extinguishing chamber for an electric protection apparatus comprising an arc formation chamber containing a stationary contact and a movable contact which, at the moment they separate, form an arc between them, said arc formation chamber communicating with the inlet of a second chamber called arc extinguishing chamber, at least one separating wall placed in a volume situated downstream from said arc extinguishing chamber, said wall extending in the direction of the gas flow so as to perform partitioning of the above-mentioned volume in the direction of this flow of the gases, and at least one exhaust outlet enabling the quenching gases to be removed to the outside of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8902027
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric protection apparatus comprising at least one switching module fitted on a mounting support, and a control device with an electromagnetic coil juxtaposed with one of the above-mentioned modules, this device comprising a magnetic shield arranged in a plane substantially perpendicular to the plane of the mounting support, said shield being located between the control device and the switching module situated closer to said device, facing the coil of the control device, and comprising at least one ferromagnetic part shaped in such a way that said shield performs magnetic guiding of the arc as soon as separation of the contacts takes place so as to increase the propulsion component of the Laplacian force acting on the arc as soon as separation of the contacts takes place.

  • Patent number: 8476998
Abstract: An electromagnetic trip device comprising a shell and a moving core sliding due to the action of a coil, the shell comprising a radial surface having an opening through which the moving core passes, superposition of a radial crown of the moving core and the radial surface forming a magnetic flux transfer surface enabling flow of an axial magnetic flux. The trip device comprises intercalary adjustment means of said transfer surface respectively positioned between the moving core and the opening, said intercalary adjustment means comprising two calibrated elements adjoined surface against surface and being respectively formed by an alternation of magnetic sectors and non-magnetic sectors; movement of a calibrated element with respect to the other enabling a variation of said transfer surface to be obtained.
