  • Patent number: 5236357
Abstract: A dental instrument has a stem which presents, besides helicoidal ramps providing helicoidal cutting edges, annular grooves of V-shaped cross-section and spaced apart. One of the faces of each of the grooves is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the instrument. Due to the grooves, the instrument can be used not only as a reamer, with a rotative movement, but also as a file, with a back and forth movement when the faces of the grooves produce a scraping effect on the wall of the root canal being treated.

  • Patent number: 5219284
Abstract: A set of instruments is provided for reaming out dental root canals. The instruments of the set are distributed in groups of three having, in each group, a common diameter D1 measured at the root of its terminal point. In each group, the diameter D2 measured at the root of the cutting lips of a conical stem of the instrument is different, from one instrument to the next one of the group. Thus, the conicity of the three instruments of each group increases from one to the next, which enables a practitioner to ream out dental root canals to impart thereto a more wide-mouthed shape than is usually the case, such shape being especially suitable to be sealed by means of gutta-percha.

  • Patent number: 5110291
Abstract: Apparatus for bending dental instrument for use in root canals. The apparatus includes two rotatable sleeves made of plastic material one of which is carried by a stationary element which acts as a handle and the other one of which is carried by a movable member articulated on the handle. A coil spring interposed between the handle and the movable member urges the two sleeves to be maintained at distance one from each other. The blade of the instrument to be bent is engaged between the two sleeves when they are positioned distant from each other. A force then is exerted on the movable member for moving one of the sleeves toward the other one and pinching the blade of the instrument between them. Then, while the blade is pinched between the sleeves, a traction is exerted on the instrument accompanied with a lateral displacement that produces the bending of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4802848
Abstract: The parapulper restorative pin comprises a stem provided with a handle permitting to operate it manually, the dentist rotating this handle by gripping it between his fingers. This handle is provided with four longitudinal grooves constituting holds for four longitudinal fingers provided at the front end of a stem constituting a driving member intended to be connected to a motor driving mechanism, for example a dental engine. The engagement of the fingers with the grooves of the handle not only renders the stem of the driving member angularly rigid with the stem of the pin but, moreover, renders these two elements also rigid axially, owing to the fact that the said engagement is a friction fit, that facilitates the presentation of the pin opposite the hole of the dental root into which it has to be screwed.

  • Patent number: 4557690
Abstract: An accessory for use in pricking depth-indicating washers on to dental reamers comprises a body constituting a receptacle. The washers which are located in the receptacle are brought into a free space of the body within which they are juxtaposed. They successively engage a notch in a movable small plate, constituting a distributor element, which enables the washer located in the notch, by transverse sliding of the small plate, to be brought opposite to a hole of the body. The washer thus placed can easily be pricked by a dental canal reamer passing through a hole provided in the cover of the accessory and which is situated opposite to the hole of the body. The diameter of this hole is greater than that of the washers to allow the washer which is pricked on the spindle to be withdrawn from the receptacle.
