  • Patent number: 6063112
Abstract: A treatment kit having an intraluminal prosthesis that treats an intracorporeal lumen. The kit includes, in addition to the expandable prosthesis, a catheter that is introduced inside the lumen. A radially expanding device and an envelope surround the prosthesis when the prosthesis is in a contracted configuration. Two extremities of the envelope are attached to form a single unit with the catheter. The envelope incorporates a flexible sheath that can form a compressed configuration and an extended configuration. The sheath comes into external contact with an internal wall of the intracorporal lumen and detaches itself from the remainder of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 6059735
Abstract: A portable device for extemporaneous analysis of a body fluid in an intracorporeal cavity includes a tube adapted for introduction into the cavity and a rod slidably mounted in the tube. The rod has a gripping end which emerges from one end of the tube, and a second end that has elements for sampling of body fluid. The rod is capable of assuming two relative positions with respect to the tube, one retracted and the other deployed. The second end of the rod has two branches which can be spaced apart angularly, and the free end of each of the branches has elements for sampling of the body fluid. The branches are arranged in relation with the tube in such a way that, in the retracted position, the sampling elements of the two branches are drawn together and remain at a distal end of the tube, and in the deployed position, the branches are spaced apart outside the distal end of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5919232
Abstract: A prosthetic fabric comprises a sheet textile structure capable of two different shapes, one being a flat, unfolded arrangement and the other being an ordered, gathered arrangement, and at least one continuous filiform element having two free gripping ends. The continuous filiform element is connected to the sheet structure by a plurality of catching points distributed over a surface of the sheet, along and on either side of a neutral axis that is parallel to one of the principal dimensions of the sheet. The structure of the fabric is such that pulling on the two gripping ends of the continuous filiform element generates the folded arrangement wherein the sheet is ordered transversely and on either side of the neutral axis and pulling on only one gripping end of the continuous filiform element extracts the continuous filiform element from the sheet.

  • Patent number: 5735871
Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-expanding endoprosthesis intended to support walls of anatomical channels. The endoprosthesis according to the invention comprises 2n external longitudinal elements, and 2n other intermediate longitudinal elements, distributed in a parallel arrangement about the axis of the endoprosthesis, and offset with respect to one another along the axis, and a plurality of rings distributed about the axis of the endoprosthesis, joining the longitudinal elements and each being in the form of a filament of zigzag configuration. According to the invention, the folded-down configuration of the endoprosthesis is obtained by longitudinal traction of the external elements with respect to the intermediate elements.
