  • Patent number: 5648713
Abstract: A regulator circuit for a battery of electrical storage cells, and in particular a battery whose voltage is a function of state of charge and which is constituted by "n" identical modules connected in series. The circuit comprises "n-1" regulation modules each associated with two series-connected modules of the battery, each regulation module includes means for bringing the voltage across the terminals of each of the two series-connected battery modules with which it is associated to a common value by diverting current taken from across the terminals of the module which provides the greater voltage across its terminals, end until said greater voltage has been reduced to the value present across the terminals of the module providing the smaller voltage.

  • Patent number: 5645398
Abstract: While remaining in one piece and unsectored, a nozzle permits a slight radial expansion of an assembly. The nozzle is formed by an inner platform mounted in a sliding manner with respect to a stator and an outer platform mounted in a free manner with respect to the case of the stator. Rods are fitted in a pivoting manner so as to radially guide and axially block upper parts of vanes, which are mounted in a sliding manner in the inner platform. The assembly is advantageously completed by gaskets. The nozzle can be used in high pressure turbines of turbojets.

  • Patent number: 5640488
Abstract: The dictionary is broken into clusters by first grouping the dictionary according to a rule based procedure whereby the dictionary is sorted by word length and alphabetically. After sorting, a plurality of first cluster centers is generated by selecting the dictionary entries that differ from neighboring entries by the first letter. Each of the dictionary entries is then assigned to the closest one of the first cluster centers using a dynamic time warping procedure. These newly formed clusters are then each analyzed to find the true cluster center and the dictionary entries are then each assigned to the closest true cluster center. The clusters, so formed, may then be rapidly searched to locate any dictionary entry. The search is quite efficient because only the closest cluster to the desired dictionary entry needs to be searched.

  • Patent number: 5639100
Abstract: A gasket, which functions as a static radial seal, includes a first sealing ring disposed at a first predetermined distance from a longitudinal axis. A second sealing ring is disposed at a second predetermined distance from the longitudinal axis. The second distance is less than the first distance. The first and second sealing rings are made of metal. A common metal C-shaped casing envelopes the first and second sealing rings. The first and second sealing rings move between a relaxed position prior to installation and an engaged position after installation. The first and second sealing rings are positioned in the casing in the relaxed position and define a line that extends between the centers of the first and second sealing rings. This line is disposed at an oblique offset angle with respect to the longitudinal axis.
