  • Patent number: 5615465
Abstract: The process for manufacturing parts of revolution which are made from a high-density metal with great regularity of reproducibility, especially as regards the homogeneity of the matter. It consists in carrying out the following steps:forging in three dimensions by successive upsetting and drawing-out operations carried out in three perpendicular directions;closed-die forging; andrecrystallisation heat treatment.Application to the manufacture of hollow-charged coatings made of tantalum.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 1, 1997
    Assignees: Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Thomson-Brandt Armements
Inventors: Dominique Broussoux, Jean Collard, Marie-Therese Daumas
  • Patent number: 5039355
Abstract: The process according to the invention makes it possible to form parts from copper of high purity and fine structure.Beginning with a billet (1) made by continuous casting, it includes the following main phases:a kneading of the billet (1, 4) comprising upsetting and drawing cycles;cutting of the billet into blanks (8) each intended to form one finished part;an operation of die forging (9, 12) at ambient temperature; anda recrystallization heat treatment to obtain a grain size of the copper of less than 40 micrometers. The invention is applicable to the production of internal liners for shaped charges.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 1990
Date of Patent: August 13, 1991
Inventors: Marie T. Daumas, Jean Collard, Gerard Tost
  • Patent number: 4239976
Abstract: Electric power is produced from flow of water by means of a floating rotor, journalled on a non-rotating shaft, which is moored in place. The rotor is turned by peripheral vanes, which engage the flow. Inside the rotor are mounted energy conversion means which change the energy of rotation into electric or hydraulic power, delivered to a distribution system through the non-rotating shaft.
