  • Publication number: 20230401103
Abstract: A method for dynamically adjusting a number of virtual machines for a workload, includes: receiving a probability indicator for each of a plurality of N sequential stages, where N is a natural number greater than 1, of a likelihood that a virtual machine assigned to a workload will be evicted during the N sequential stages; predicting a target number of virtual machines to configure in a current stage for a subsequent stage from among the plurality of N sequential stages based on the probability indicator, a target capacity for the workload, and a current price for maintaining a virtual machine; and configuring a number of virtual machines for the workload during the current stage based on the target number to be loaded for the workload for the subsequent stage.

  • Patent number: 6730162
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing a hydraulic binder wherein at least the following two binders are mixed together: a) a first hydraulic binder having as one of its main components the mineral compound C4A3{overscore (S)}; and b) a sulfate second binder based on calcium sulfate hemihydrate and/or anhydrite obtained by applying heat treatment to gypsum. The present invention also provides a binder comprising amongst its main components: a) a mineral compound C4A3{overscore (S)}; and b) a compound comprising a hemihydrate of calcium sulfate of &agr; or &bgr; form and of general formula CaSO4, ½H2O and/or an anhydrite of III form of general formula CaSO4, &egr;H2O with &egr; lying in the range 0 to 0.5, preferably in the range 0.06 to 0.11, or an anhydrite of II form of formula CaSO4.

  • Patent number: 6706113
Abstract: A process for synthesizing a hydraulic binder based on natural calcium sulfate (gypsum), the process consisting in heating the calcium sulfate to obtain a large proportion of anhydrite III or &agr; anhydrite, and then in quenching. The process consists in: completely dehydrating the calcium sulfate, and suddently cooling the matter thus dehydrated. The present invention finds a preferred application in the construction industry in obtaining a hydraulic binder that can be used as cement.

  • Patent number: 4337019
Abstract: A machine for manufacturing disks on a very long rod, said machine including two conveyor-driven chains of moulding units that press against one another and receive said rod therebetween in an area provided with at least one orifice for injecting a plastics substance into a cavity formed between a pair of mating units, one from each chain, the units then parting to release a disk-shaped part moulded onto said very long rod. At least one of the sets of moulding units has a so-called "hermaphrodite" unit (1) with leading tabs 8 and trailing tabs (10) for fixing to its adjacent units in the chain. The tabs are such that they allow the "hermaphrodite" unit to be inserted between a female unit and a male unit or between two other hermaphrodite units. Applications to manufacturing insulator disks on the central conductor of a coaxial cable.
