  • Patent number: 5284203
Abstract: A heat exchanger, typically a cooling radiator for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, has a water header with an integral expansion chamber. The header comprises a header body or casing having an elongated open bottom face closed by a header plate, which is fixed to the header body. Liquid flows in the header between a first end and a second end of the latter, so as to cover the header plate. The header body has a set of transverse, integral baffles spaced apart along the header body between its two ends. Each baffle has a free edge close to the header plate and an opening defining a flow cross section through the baffle. The area of this opening decreases in successive baffles in the direction of flow.

  • Patent number: 5280852
Abstract: A motor vehicle has an electric propulsion motor which is cooled in an air radiator by air forced through the latter by a blower. The blower and air radiator are arranged in an air circuit in series with each other. The air circuit is a closed loop which includes the cabin, so that all the air passing through the air radiator comes from the cabin and can be adjustably recycled back into the cabin or exhausted to the outside. The circuit includes two parallel branches, with an auxiliary electric radiator placed in one of these branches downstream of the blower and the air radiator. A mixing valve enables the proportion of the total air flow passing through the branch containing the auxiliary radiator to be adjusted according to the heating requirements in the cabin.

  • Patent number: 5273487
Abstract: A heating and/or air conditioning apparatus for the cabin of a motor vehicle includes an air blower unit which is supplied with fresh air from outside the vehicle through a fresh air admission duct, and with air from within the cabin of the vehicle for recycling through the apparatus, this air being introduced through a recycling air admission duct. The apparatus also includes adjusting means for adjusting the proportions of the flows of air through the two respective admission ducts. A deodorant filter is placed removably in the recycling air admission duct.

  • Patent number: 4952854
Abstract: A motor control devise including an auxiliary resistor in series with the motor, a relay, including a coil for activation thereof for shorting the resistor, voltage terminals for determining the current in the auxiliary resistor and the voltage in the supply line, a microprocessor programmed to calculate the sum of the resistance of the supply line and the internal motor resistance, a time delay in energizing the relay for shorting the resistor immediately after the calculation of the resistances, and wherein the microprocessor is programmed to calculate instantaneous values of speed and torque of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4846591
Abstract: The rotary bearing assembles a first arm with a second arm (14) provided with a cylindrical throughway opening (20) which receives a journal constituted by a first cylindrical shoulder (22) projecting from the lateral surface (24) of the first arm and a second cylindrical shoulder (26) which projects from a member (16) forming a bearing plug, the two shoulders (22, 26) being mechanically interconnected by their confronting planar surfaces (30, 32) so as to trap the second arm. One of the shoulders (22) has an axial orifice (34) for introducing a lubricating agent and opening onto the planar surface of the shoulder (30) for supplying the lubricating agent to a distribution passage (38, 40) which is formed in at least one of the two planar surfaces (30, 32) and communicates with the periphery of the journal.

  • Patent number: 4554763
Abstract: The device comprises two arms 1, 2 arranged in an X-configuration inside the door 3 of the vehicle and supporting the window glass 4. One arm, 1, is a driving arm and the other arm, 2, a driven arm and the driving arm 1 is fixed adjacent one end to a support 5 capable of being driven in rotation by a motor-speed reducer unit 6 controlled by a button 7. The latter is connected to the driving arm 1 in such manner as to be kinematically related to the latter and is slidable in a slot 12 formed in the inner panel 13 of the door 3. In this way the driver can accompany the movement of the glass 4 by exerting a thrust on the button 7 in a travel of the order of a decimeter so that he is able to adjust the position of the glass 4 with precision.

  • Patent number: 4541258
Abstract: Devices for controlling the unlatching and locking of the latch are hydraulic. Connected to a single unit having a plurality of slide valves are an expansion vessel, transmitting pumps controlling the unlatching, a receiving unlatching fluid motor and one or more pumps controlling the locking of the latch. Depending on which slide valves and pumps are employed, it is possible to achieve at will one or more of the various locking functions required in automobile vehicle latches.
