  • Patent number: 4694386
Abstract: The invention provides an integrated chopped power supply control circuit intended to receive regulation control signals and to produce square waves for enabling a switch. It comprises automatic start up means producing, in the absence of regulation signals, bursts of start up attempts with a very low recurrence period. Each burst lasts about 10% of this period and is followed by a rest time.

  • Patent number: 4692853
Abstract: A chopped power supply control circuit is provided intended to receive regulation control signals and to produce square waves for enabling a switch. A current comparator measures the current in the switch and opens the switch when the threshold is exceeded. Under normal operating conditions the threshold is fixed. Under start-up conditions of should a malfunction occur a threshold variation circuit causes the threshold to vary gradually from a low value to its normal value. Thus the risk of over-current at start-up is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4645945
Abstract: A switching control circuit for power transistors controlling an inductive load. To avoid oversaturation of the transistor, causing excessive consumption and a switching difficulty on opening, said transistor is caused to operate at the limit of saturation, by means of an emitter resistor, a quasi current mirror in parallel across said resistor, another current mirror and a current amplifier. The current from said first current mirror is controlled on or off by a square wave generator such as those used in chopped power supplies or television scanning circuits for which the invention is particularly appropriate.

  • Patent number: 4228493
Abstract: A power control circuit for controlling the base current to a switching transistor connected in series with a primary winding of a switching transformer in which a logic circuit controls first and second amplifiers which respectively supply base current to and absorb base current from the switching transistor. The logic circuit blocks base current flow whenever the current flow through the transistor or a secondary winding of the transformer exceeds predetermined values in accordance with timing pulses.
