  • Publication number: 20180020969
Abstract: A system controls a cyclic motion of at least one body segment of an individual, including: at least one three-dimensional motion sensor, an attachment attaching the sensor to the body segment of the individual, a processor coupled to the sensor and capable of being carried by the individual, in which a reference cyclic motion and tolerance limits specific to the individual concerning at least one parameter of the motion to be controlled, which change depending on the progress thereof, are stored, the processor being configured to detect the cyclic motion, integrate the measurement data from the sensor in such a way as to calculate the parameter(s) of the motion of the segment and to compare, in real time, the parameter(s) of the measured motion (Ctr) with the parameter(s) of the previously recorded reference motion (Cref) of the individual, and a feedback device coupled to the processor, designed to provide the individual with real-time information on the compliance of the parameters(s) of the measured mo

  • Patent number: 8744826
Abstract: A method of simulating the behavior of an articulated set of bone parts, in particular the vertebral column comprising a construction step of constructing a three-dimensional geometrical model from data that is specific to the subject in a reference position; and a mechanical customization step of determining the geometrical model by detailing at least some of the connection areas of the bone parts. The mechanical customization step includes a stage of customizing critical connection areas for the bone parts; a data acquisition stage of acquiring data concerning the articulated bone set of the subject during at least one clinical test of posture; and a characterization stage for characterizing the mechanical parameters of said junction areas in order to cause the model to reproduce the data acquired during the above-mentioned clinical test.

  • Patent number: 8660329
Abstract: Method for reconstruction of a three-dimensional model of a body structure of a subject, said structure comprising a plurality of objects, wherein a database (21) of the structure is provided, the database comprising means to estimate, from a parameter of any object of the structure, another parameter for an object of the structure, a preliminary solution for a first object (L1) is modified to be brought in concordance with subject-specific data (23a, 23b), a reconstruction of the second object (T12) is obtained based on the modified first object and on the database of structure (21).

  • Publication number: 20110015514
Abstract: A method comprising: -providing acquisition data (34,38) of a patient, comprising acquisition data of a bone structure of the patient in a given position, providing a knowledge base (22,43,47), comprising data related to such bone structures, -determining a patient-specific position-specific finite-element model of the bone structure comprising: patient-specific three-dimensional geometry, patient-specific mechanical characteristics of the bone structure, and patient-specific position-specific mechanical load applied to the bone structure in the position.

  • Publication number: 20070270959
Abstract: An artificial vertebral joint having an anterior motion preserving system connected to a posterior motion preserving system is disclosed. The anterior motion preserving system may be permanently connected or selectively connected to the posterior motion preserving system. Further, the anterior and posterior motion preserving systems may include flexible members, such as springs, to preserve motion while providing stability.

  • Patent number: 5147360
Abstract: An osteosynthesis spinal device comprises two rods (1, 2), anterior and posterior rods, respectively. Plates (4) for fixation of the anterior rod (1) to the extreme vertebral bodies, for example T12 and L3, have an arched surface corresponding to the anterolateral anatomy of the vertebral bodies. The plates (4) are equipped with screws (14) for locking the rod (1) and screws (5) of the cancellous bone type. Screws (3) ensure the osseous anchoring of the posterior rod (2) and bars (6) for transverse connection of the rods (1 and 2) constitute with the rods, a rigid frame assembly. The anterior rod (1) reinforces the stability and the rigidity of the assembly and is advantageously embedded in a furrow (30) made in the vertebral bodies which is subsequently covered with the periostrum.
