  • Patent number: 11912645
Abstract: The invention is based on the discovery of a new bacterial compound with analgesic properties which could be used as a new tool for the treatment of pain disorders such as visceral pain. Studying the mechanisms implicated in analgesic properties of the probiotic Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917 (EcN), inventors characterized, the amino fatty acids produced by EcN, which display the Ecn analgesic properties. One of these compounds inhibits the hypersensitivity to colorectal distension induced by capsaicin, which is a very powerful nociceptive compound and acts via the GABA B receptor. Furthermore, inventors demonstrate that this compound is able to cross the cellular epithelial barrier (such as the intestinal epithelium). Thus, the invention relates to a lipopetide compound, derived from gamma-aminobutyric acid. The invention also relates to a lipopeptide compound according to the invention for the treatment of treating pain disorder, such as somatic pain and visceral pain.

  • Patent number: 8017283
Abstract: An electrode for an alkali fuel cell comprises an active layer formed by a bilayer or by a stack of a plurality of bilayers. Each bilayer is composed of a catalytic layer comprising catalyst particles of nanometric size and of a porous layer comprising two opposite faces one of which is in contact with the catalytic layer. The porous layer is made from a porous composite material comprising a hydroxide ion conducting polymer matrix in which a metallic lattice is formed constituting a plurality of electronically conducting paths connecting the two opposite faces of the porous layer. Advantageously, fabrication of such an electrode is obtained by successively performing vacuum deposition of the catalyst particles and vacuum co-deposition of the hydroxide ion conducting polymer and of the metal on a free surface of a support.

  • Publication number: 20080038464
Abstract: A method comprising the following steps: placing the substrates in an evacuated enclosures; forming a gas by evaporating a component that is liquid at atmospheric pressure and at ambient temperature; and introducing the gas into the enclosure. The gas is decomposed and a complementary gas is introduced into the enclosure for the purpose of reacting with the decomposed gas so as to form at least one thin layer on the substrate. Also disclosed is a method of forming a colored film and to an associated device capable of implementing the method of the invention.
