  • Publication number: 20180055238
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for retaining a sheet on a mattress. A membrane comprising a plurality of extensions disposed along the perimeter of the membrane is displaced underneath a mattress. The extensions of the membrane are composed of an elastic material and the membrane is composed of a material that generates sufficient friction when in contact with the mattress to be displaced. The extensions are configured to retract to an original length, wherein the original length of each extension corresponds to a size of the mattress. Additionally, the extensions are disposed at a distance apart from each other so as to substantially retain a sheet applied on the mattress.

  • Patent number: 9813403
Abstract: Various methods and systems for securing communications with enhanced media platforms, are provided. In particular, an enhanced media platform is authenticated using a trusted location. The authenticated enhanced media platform establishes a bidirectional trust with an enhanced remote location, the enhanced media platform being stored in the enhanced remote location. Upon authentication and establishing the bidirectional trust, the enhanced media platform may securely communicate media content in a media content distribution service infrastructure while supporting custom functionality. The method for securing communications with enhanced media platforms includes communicating authentication credentials to an internal security component at the trusted location. The method further includes receiving validation credentials from the internal security component. The method also includes authenticating the enhanced remote location based on at least a portion of the validation credentials received.

  • Patent number: 9642159
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus to help facilitate providing of multiple Downlink Control Information (DCI) messages that separately schedule downlink communication of bearer data to a wireless communication device (WCD) in a given sub-frame, to help ensure receipt of such multiple DCI messages by the WCD. As disclosed, a base station will include in at least one such DCI message an indication that there is in the sub-frame at least one other such DCI message. When the WCD receives and reads the one such DCI message, the WCD may thereby learn from the indication that there is at least one other such DCI message in the sub-frame. The WCD may then search for and find the at least other such DCI message in the sub-frame and/or may use the indication as a basis to verify receipt of all such DCI messages in the sub-frame.

  • Patent number: 9598178
Abstract: A method for monitoring a degradation in an on-board device of an aircraft, comprising a step of comparing an abnormality score obtained for a given flight of said aircraft with a decision threshold (S) and a step of transmitting an alert in the event of said decision threshold (S) being exceeded, said decision threshold (S) being automatically determined for a given probability of alert Pa, corresponding to the probability of an alert being transmitted during the monitoring method when said on-board device is healthy, by means of a plurality of steps, including a step of reading the antecedent of the continuous adjusted division function for the value 1?Peac, said antecedent corresponding to said decision threshold (S), with Peac being the elementary probability of exceeding the threshold for confirmation per k exceedances of threshold during n consecutive flights and being a function of the probability of alert Pa.

  • Publication number: 20170020277
Abstract: A short wavelength visible light-emitting toothbrush with an electronic interlock control device preventing operation when the toothbrush is removed from the user's mouth. The electronic interlock control over operation is necessary to prevent accidental eye exposure to the high intensity light source with a wavelength in the range of 400 nm to 500 nm. The light-emitting toothbrush activates upon entering the user's mouth but deactivates immediately when removed, thus protecting the user's eyes from direct exposure to the high power light source contained in the brush head.

  • Patent number: 9520980
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method carried out by a router. The method includes the router receiving a data packet originated by a wireless communication device (WCD) being served by a base station. The method also includes the router determining an air-interface resource on which the base station is serving the WCD. After receiving the data packet, the router determines a routing prioritization for the data packet based at least in part on the determined air-interface resource. The router may then route the data packet in accordance with the determined routing prioritization.

The electronic interlock control over operation is necessary to prevent accidental eye exposure to the high intensity light source with a wavelength in the range of 400 nm to 500 nm. The light-emitting toothbrush activates upon formation of an electrical circuit between the brush handle in contact with the users hand and the brush head or brush bristles in contact with moisture contained in a human mouth such as saliva or water mixed with toothpaste but deactivates immediately when removed from the mouth, thus protecting the user's eyes from direct exposure to the high power light source contained in the brush-head.

  • Patent number: 9021503
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for coordinating application sate and communication mediums state. Embodiments of present invention provide a mechanism for a communication medium to provide a view of message content for a message (a peek) to an application along with the communication medium preventing further access to the message (a lock) until the application signals back how to handle the message. Thus, the communication medium indicates that the message is locked for the duration of processing at the application. Indicating that the message is locked significantly reduces the chance of the message being provided to another application (or another consumer of the same application) during the time the application is processing the view of message content.
