  • Publication number: 20160084062
Abstract: An apparatus for retrievable semi-permanent monitoring system includes a casing for a well; a transmission system installed on the outside of the casing or in a wall of the casing; and a sensor array. The sensor array is adapted to couple with the transmission system, and where a wall of the casing is disposed between the sensor array and the transmission system.

  • Patent number: 8149931
Abstract: The invention proposes a data transmission process, from a first unit (1) situated at a predetermined depth of an oil well to a second unit (2) situated at the surface of this well, the process comprising a digital-analog conversion stage (8) of the data to obtain an analog signal forming support of the data, and an amplification stage (9) of this signal prior to its emission in a cable (11) connecting the two units, characterized in that at least two distinct scramblings (20, 21) of the data are completed, such that there is a first and a second set of scrambled data. After passage in a single complex inverse Fourier transform, that intended for emission is selected (26), whereof the dynamic in amplitude is the lowest. If the probability of saturating with a single set is 10?q, then due to this process the probability will be 10?2q.

  • Patent number: 8002031
Abstract: The invention concerns an independent measuring and processing probe designed to be lowered in a tube for temporarily installation at the bottom of a hydrocarbon well. It includes removable anchoring resources (3, 4) capable of anchoring the probe to a casing at the bottom of the well, a set of sensors, at least one of which is a seismic sensor, recording resources, resources for processing the measurements provided by the sensors, and a central body (1) integrally reamed throughout the whole of its length by an opening (2) so as to allow free passage through the probe when it is in the anchored position. Such a probe can be used in particular to effect a reliable preliminary study on the well before installing a more complete observation system.

  • Patent number: 6799634
Abstract: A tracer release method for monitoring fluid flow in a well utilizes a deformable container having a liquid tracer material which container has an outlet which debouches into the neck portion of a venturi in a well conduit. The container has a wall which is at least partly exposed to the fluid pressure at the relatively wide in- or outlet of the venturi, so that an amount of tracer is injected continuously or discontinuously into the well effluents which is proportional to the pressure difference p across the venturi, which pressure difference p is indicative of the fluid density &rgr; and squared fluid velocity &ugr;.
