  • Publication number: 20230051252
Abstract: A display system comprises an image source generating left and right components of a stereoscopic image, a screen adapted to display the left and right image components, a light source emitting parallel light strips, a lenticular panel having parallel lenses for directing light from the light source toward the screen, and a tracking system of a position of a viewer. A controller receives the position of the viewer, in a first timeslot causes the image source to generate the left component of the stereoscopic image while controlling lighting of some light strips directed by the lenticular panel through the screen and toward the left eye of the viewer and, in a second timeslot causes the image source to generate the right component of the stereoscopic image while controlling lighting of other light strips directed by the lenticular panel through the screen and toward the right eye of the viewer.

  • Patent number: 9414049
Abstract: A method of generating stereoscopic images and an autostereoscopic system are introduced. Stereoscopic images are obtained by generating, on a screen, a first image having a pattern comprising alternating columns of N left-image pixels or sub-pixels and of N right-image pixels or sub-pixels and a second image having a reversed pattern from the pattern of the first image. A parallel-strip barrier has alternating strips for blocking alternating columns of the first and second images. A tracking system provides position information related to a viewer of the stereoscopic image. A controller shifts to the left or to the right, in relation to the strips of the barrier, the image columns by a number of image pixels or sub-pixels as a function of the position of the viewer.

  • Patent number: 9407907
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and display systems for concurrently displaying two complementary images. Collimated light comprising interlaced series of left and right image rows are received, at angles that alternate over time, on an intensity modulation matrix. The collimated light is transmitted to a patterned retarder capable of applying spatially alternating polarizations to successive rows. The collimated light is further transmitted to a display layer. The angles at which collimated light is received on the intensity modulation matrix and distances between display system components are such that odd lines of the display layer alternate in time between lines of a first image and lines of a second image while even lines of the display layer alternate between lines of the second image and lines of the first image. The first and second images may be discriminated by viewers using polarized glasses.

  • Publication number: 20100293567
Abstract: The present relates to a method and a system for analyzing interactions between a remote control and associated multimedia appliances. The method and system intercept transmissions representative of the interactions between the remote control and the associated multimedia appliances, and extract there from data related to the interactions. Then, the method and system process and interpret the data related to the interactions, and allocate a timestamp to some of the interactions. The method and system also generate a subscriber's profile based on the interpretation of the data related to the interactions, store the subscriber's profile, and transmit the subscriber's profile to a centralized analytic server.

  • Patent number: 6239843
Abstract: A decoding system comprises a software-oriented implementation of the decoding process for extracting binary teletext and closed caption data from a signal. The decoder system according to one embodiment includes a processing unit which implements both a closed caption module and a teletext module. The decoder system calls the closed caption module to detect a clock synchronization signal associated with closed caption data. Upon finding the clock synchronization signal, the closed caption module synchronizes to the signal, identifies a framing code, and extracts the closed caption data. Similarly, the decoder system may call the teletext module for the teletext lines, which also synchronizes using a teletext clock synchronization signal. When the clock synchronization signal is detected, the teletext module interpolates the incoming data to reconstruct the data signal.

  • Patent number: 5828422
Abstract: Embodiments of methods and apparatuses for removing ghosts from a signal such as a communications signal received over a channel where the output symbol pattern is used for selecting correction factors for correcting the received symbols. The correction factor is added to the sampled symbols and the sampled symbol is compared with a selected one of a plurality of thresholds based upon the closeness of the various thresholds to a sequence of the corrected symbol values. That comparison forms the basis for the next output symbol in the output sequence. Further, the selected correction factor is updated by taking the difference between the selected correction factor and an error measurement between the corrected sample value and the nominal value of the symbol times a damping factor. At various points in the sequence, the output is forced to an expected symbol sequence such as a clocking sequence used for clock recovery.
