  • Patent number: 10345094
Abstract: A method of measuring the thickness of a fiber texture wound on an impregnation mandrel for fabricating an annular structural part of a turbine engine out of composite material, the method including, prior to winding the fiber texture, acquiring a reference distance between an outside surface of the impregnation mandrel and a distance sensor positioned facing the outside surface of the impregnation mandrel, while winding the fiber texture, acquiring at least one real distance between the distance sensor and the outside surface of the fiber texture wound on the impregnation mandrel, and calculating the real thickness of the fiber texture wound on the impregnation mandrel by subtracting the real distance from the reference distance.

  • Patent number: 9726616
Abstract: A machine for weaving or winding a fiber preform on a mandrel having an axis of rotation that is substantially horizontal and that serves to receive the preform, the machine having a plurality of cameras pointing towards the underside of the fiber preform in order to scan the hidden face of the fiber preform and acquire images of the hidden face; an image analysis module for processing these images of the hidden face of the fiber preform in a plurality of adjacent scan windows, and for extracting weaving patterns therefrom and comparing them with reference weaving patterns previously stored in the module; a motor for driving the mandrel in rotation about its axis of rotation; and a control unit for stopping rotation of the mandrel if the result of the comparison reveals a difference of appearance between the two weaving patterns.

  • Patent number: 9592625
Abstract: A device for fabricating a composite material part by injecting resin into a fiber structure. The device includes: a first die presenting two adjacent support surfaces defining a reentrant angle between them; at least one chock with a wedge-shaped portion configured to press the fiber structure into the angle; and a second die movable relative to the first die, the first and second dies being configured to clamp on the fiber structure and the chock. The chock is connected to the second die by at least one link, the link being hinged relative to the second die and relative to the chock to guide the wedge-shaped portion towards the angle to press the fiber structure into the angle when the second die approaches the first die.

  • Patent number: 9403325
Abstract: A winding machine for winding a fiber texture onto an impregnation mandrel, includes: a take-up mandrel for storing and unwinding a fiber texture, the take-up mandrel having a substantially horizontal axis of rotation; an impregnation mandrel for receiving superposed layers of the fiber texture unwound from the take-up mandrel, the impregnation mandrel having an axis of rotation that is substantially horizontal and parallel to the axis of rotation of the take-up mandrel; a camera directed towards the fiber texture and the impregnation mandrel to examine the passage of warp tracer yarns and weft tracer yarns present in the fiber texture; an image-analysis module for determining the positions of the intersections of warp tracer yarns with the successive weft tracer yarns and comparing these determined positions with corresponding positions for the intersections of reference warp and weft tracer yarns, and determining an offset value for the fiber texture for each of these intersections; electric motors for driv
