  • Patent number: 9341844
Abstract: A method for validating a control operation to be performed by a target device through a virtual control interface. The virtual control interface is displayed by a head mounted device. A selection instruction of a first area is detected, delivering a first area. A position of gaze is detected, delivering a second area within the virtual control interface. It is detected if the first area and the second area are at least partially overlapping a same dedicated area associated to a control operation to be performed by the target device. In case of detection of an occurrence of the first area and the second area at least partially overlapping, the control operation is validated.

  • Publication number: 20150187326
Abstract: In one embodiment, it is proposed a method for displaying a content through either a head mounted display device or a display device. The method is remarkable in that it comprises: detecting a presence of a display device in a field of view associated with a position of a head mounted display device; in case of detection of a presence of said display device, detecting an operating state of said display device; and if said operating state is on, meaning that said display device is displaying a content, said head mounted display device switches off, and if said operating state is off, said head mounted display device activates said display device in order to display said content on it; in case of absence of a presence of said display device, displaying a content through said head mounted display device.

  • Publication number: 20150054743
Abstract: In one embodiment, it is proposed a method for validating a control operation to be performed by a target device through a virtual control interface, the virtual control interface being displayed by a head mounted device of a user. The method is remarkable in that it comprises: a step of detecting a selection instruction of a first area, delivering a selected first area; a step of detecting a position of gaze of the user, delivering a second area within the virtual control interface; a step of detecting if the selected first area and the second area are at least partially overlapping a same dedicated area associated to a control operation to be performed by said target device; and in case of detection of an occurrence of said at least partially overlapping, said method further comprising a step of validating the control operation.

  • Patent number: 8787612
Abstract: A method for marking a series of images such as a film for identification. A copy of the film is associated with a series of pseudorandom values that correspond to fields of a virtual grid covering an image. A visible mark is put into the field corresponding to the first pseudo-random value in M consecutive images followed by a number N of unmarked images (N 0) before repeating this using the next pseudo-random value. The visible marks are advantageously quite small so as to keep user disturbance to a minimum, but they may also be quite visible. Also provided is a marking apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8635161
Abstract: A method of watermarking an image. A visible watermark is inserted in the image to obtain a visibly watermarked image. Information allowing removal of the visible watermark is protected to obtain protected information that is inserted as an invisible watermark in the visibly watermarked image to obtain a visibly and invisibly watermarked image. The information allowing removal of the visible watermark may be image values of the pixels to be covered by the visible watermark and, possibly, the position and size of the visible watermark, in which case these values are first memorized. The visible watermark may be opaque. Also provided are an apparatus for inserting the watermarks, a method for removing the visible watermark, essentially by performing the method “in a mirror”, and an apparatus for removing the visible watermark.

  • Patent number: 7869596
Abstract: A method of recording scrambled digital data comprising the steps consisting in: (a) receiving a scrambled digital data stream; (b) identifying in the data stream a control packet (ECM) containing at least one key (CW) for descrambling at least a part of the data of the stream; (c) storing the control packet in a table; and (d) recording the data stream and the said table on a data storage medium. A storage medium and a method of reading the recorded data are also proposed.

  • Patent number: 6421089
Abstract: This process to convert frames into frames with a larger format is characterized in that it carries out a motion estimation (5) of the current frame relatively to a previous extended view, it compensates in motion (6) the previous extended view relatively to the current frame, it updates the previous extended view (7) by taking into account data from the current frame to give an updated extended view becoming the previous extended view for the motion estimation of the next current frame, it completes the current frame (8) with data from the up-dated extended view to provide the frame with a larger format. The applications concern the 4/3 to 16/9 TV format conversion for 16/9 TV sets.

  • Patent number: 5446495
Abstract: A coder comprising banks of analysis filters (26, 27) for partitioning the spatio-temporal spectrum of each television image into sub-bands. The banks of analysis filters are coupled to devices for differential coding (30.sub.i, 31.sub.i, 32.sub.i) for separately coding the signals obtained in each sub-band. The decoder comprises prediction loops (24; 25; 12, 17 . . . 20, 3, 21, 22, 23) equal in number to the number of sub-bands for reconstructing each television image transmitted by the coder portion together with its level of resolution in each of the sub-bands.
