  • Patent number: 11729601
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for routing communications. A plurality of communications-enabled devices are coupled to a communications network. Each communications-enabled device has a device identifier. A user-programmable database associates each of a plurality of user identifiers with a device identifier. A router circuit is coupled to the communications network through a portal communication device having a portal identifier. A user designates a destination user identifier when making a communication. The router circuit switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number.

  • Patent number: 9924030
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for routing communications. A plurality of communication devices are coupled, via a shared common (interface) communication device, to a communications network. Each such communication device has a device identifier. A user-programmable database associates each of a plurality of user identifiers with a device identifier. A call-routing switch arrangement is coupled to the communication network through a portal communication device having a portal identifier. A user designates a destination user identifier when making a communication. The call-routing switches the call, directing the call to a destination device identifier responsive to the user-programmable database association between the destination user identifier and a device identifier. According to certain aspects, communications are directed to users and are routed to associated equipment, a user identifier serving as a virtual extension number.

  • Patent number: 9917945
Abstract: A voice quality estimation process may be triggered by receiving one or more alarms corresponding to one or more endpoint terminals being used during a teleconference. The alarm(s) may include uplink transmission alarms, downlink transmission alarms and/or acoustic quality alarms. The alarms may be based on evaluating transmission metrics and/or acoustic quality metrics. The voice quality estimation process may require a relatively greater computational burden than the processes of evaluating the transmission metrics and/or acoustic quality metrics for the purpose of potentially triggering an alarm. The accuracy and computational complexity of voice quality estimation may be adjusted by selecting times during which alarm detection will take place, alarm detector thresholds, alarm analyzer thresholds and/or levels of voice quality estimation.

  • Patent number: 9094523
Abstract: A method (400) for determining that an audio conference is in a first phase of a plurality of phases. The method comprises determining (401) a plurality of sequences (301) of events (305) for a plurality of terminals (120, 170); wherein an event from the sequences (301) of events (305) indicates that a talker activity at a terminal (120, 170) has been detected; determining (403) a sequence (350) of feature vectors (330) based on the plurality of sequences (301) of events (305); wherein a feature vector (330) of the sequence (350) of feature vectors (330) is indicative of the talker activity (332) of at least one of the plurality of terminals (120, 170) relative to the talker activity at least another one of the plurality of terminals (120, 170); and determining (406) that the audio conference is in the first phase based on the sequence (350) of feature vectors (330).
