  • Patent number: 9431675
Abstract: A positive electrode material, having particles having a complex oxide OC1 core, an at least partial complex oxide OC2 coating, and an adhesive carbon surface deposit. The material is characterized in that the complex oxide OC1 is an oxide having a high energy density and in that the oxide OC2 is an oxide of a metal having a catalytic effect on the reaction of the carbon deposit, the oxide having good electronic conductivity. The presence of the OC2 layer facilitates the deposit of a carbon adhesive layer at the surface of the oxide particles, and improves the conductivity of the material when the latter is used as an electrode material. The electrode material can particularly be used in the manufacture of a lithium battery.

  • Patent number: 8482839
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrochromic optical lens and a method for the preparation thereof. The lens includes an electrode and a counter-electrode bearing an electrochromic material separated by a solid polymer electrolyte. The method consists of preparing the electrode and the counter-electrode and the assembly thereof by the surfaces thereof bearing the electrochromic material by interleaving an electrolyte membrane between said surfaces. The electrolyte membrane is interleaved in the form of a composition free of volatile liquid solvent, including a precursor of the polymer and a salt, which is liquid or which has a dynamic viscosity [mu] between 100 and 106 Pa·s.

  • Patent number: 8304087
Abstract: Process for treating wood consisting in injecting in cavities of the wood a solution of at least one fungicide and/or bactericide and/or insecticide and at least one monomer that can progressively form a polymer matrix in the cavities of the wood and then a gel in the cavities of the wood. The treated woods thus obtained exhibit an improved lifetime.

  • Patent number: 8298582
Abstract: A polysaccharide-based solid material including, in its mass, at least one active agent having bactericidal, fungal, insecticidal and/or flame-retardant properties, and at least one complexing agent and/or at least one polymeric matrix having a complexing agent. The active agent includes at least one compound selected from the group including boron, silica, aluminum, phosphorus, iodine, derivatives thereof, aluminosilicate derivatives, and mixtures thereof. The solid material is characterized by an improved stability and by reduced environmental impact, and makes it possible to prepare materials based on wood particles and woods having a particular resistance against environmental attacks such as moisture.

  • Patent number: 5731096
Abstract: A wood article is submitted to a vacuum in an autoclave to remove air that it contains. Then, a solution which contains a wood preservative, a water-soluble cross-linkable prepolymer and a polymerization initiator is introduced into the autoclave. Polymerization to form a polymeric network in the wood article is carried out in an atmosphere substantially free of oxygen, while the preservative is chemically fixed to the wood. The result is a wood article with a permanently reduced hardness and an increased moisture content at equilibrium.
