  • Publication number: 20150381795
Abstract: A network-enabled controller for a bathing unit is provided. The controller includes a network interface and a memory storing operational setting information associated with the bathing unit. Through the network interface, the controller connects to a home network and registers and maintains an active communication link with a gateway accessed over a network external to the home network. In response to receipt of a status request originating from a remote client, the controller processes the status request and selectively transmits operational setting information stored in the memory to the remote client. A system for facilitating remote control and monitoring of network-enabled controllers for bathing units is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8611932
Abstract: A method for automatic powering on and turning off of a communications device, comprising: defining a critical zone to be one of within or outside a range of a base station transceiver; sending a location message from one of the communications device and the base station transceiver; responding to the location message if the communications device is within the range; defining a location of the communications device to be within the range if the responding occurs; and triggering the communications device to one of powering on and turning off using the critical zone and the location of the communications device.

  • Patent number: 8184010
Abstract: There is herein described a charging unit adapted for insertion into a mobile device to enable a charging of a rechargeable battery in the mobile device, the unit comprising: at least two electrical charging contacts for receiving a potential difference from a power source; a blocking device for blocking energy leaking through the at least two electrical charging contacts and out of the rechargeable battery to ensure a neutrality of the at least two charging contacts when the charging is inactive; and a logic circuitry for controlling the charging of the rechargeable battery of the mobile device by activating the charging based on the potential difference received at the at least two electrical charging contacts.

  • Publication number: 20080064970
Abstract: There is described a wearable 12-lead ECG fabric electrode belt system having the standard 10 electrodes permitting the capture of a 12-lead ECG by using predetermined electrical vectors passing through the heart. This system is devoid of the electrodes normally present at the feet or lower pelvis area of the patient. Non-adhesive electrodes are used, which is an advantage for the skin of the patient and allows the patient the possibility of removing and repositioning the belt system if need be. All of the electrodes on the chest area are provided in a single line and positioned just below the pectoral line.

  • Patent number: 7194298
Abstract: The present invention can be used in conjunction with a wearable digital wireless ECG monitoring system. A full ECG curve is received by a central module. The central module is worn on the belt like a cellular or a pager. It is made of four different devices operating together: a handheld computer, a GPS, a cellular board and a multiplexing device. The system wirelessly receives the complete cardiac curve from the ECG and is able to distinguish not only the beat rate, but also to analyze any abnormal heart contractions. In fact, most common heart diseases are not related to the acceleration or deceleration of the heart rate. In case of problem detected by the central unit, the system automatically calls a central station and can send the GPS positioning and ECG monitoring of the patient with the detected anomaly data. Voice communication with the patient or the passers by is also possible.

  • Publication number: 20040068195
Abstract: The present invention is a wearable digital wireless ECG monitoring system. The device is made of two dependant parts: the wireless digital ECG and the wireless central device. The wireless digital ECG is preferably worn on the chest. It is made of two electrodes and one data processing and transmission module. The data is collected as a full ECG curve and is digitalized inside the electrodes. After being digitalized, the signal is sent wirelessly to the central module.
