  • Publication number: 20070073493
Abstract: A method to continuously measure, monitor and record operating parameters of medical appliances especially a medical insufflator, by storing the parameters measured on a pre-determined number of last operating cycles of the appliance, or over a pre-determined sliding operating period of the appliance. If an operating incident is detected, the data recorded at the time of the incident is stored. Furthermore, during the setting-up of the medical instrument, possible malfunctions of essential components are detected and the detected defects of the components are recorded.

  • Patent number: 5918844
Abstract: An assembly for attaching a holder to an operating table is connected to a supporting assembly for a medical or surgical instrument via an arm. At least one proximal portion of the arm includes a series of balls and alternately arranged cylindrical members forming ball sockets. A system for axially compressing the arm uses fluid pressure to prevent the balls from rotating in the respective sockets and to lock the medical or surgical instrument in its holder.

  • Patent number: 5178606
Abstract: The invention concerns a surgical apparatus for the irrigation and aspiration of the operative cavity during endoscopic surgery. The apparatus comprises a reservoir of liquid for irrigation of the cavity, a pump for circulating the liquid in the cavity, a pressure measuring and control means, such as a piezometric cell and valve for measuring and controlling pressure in the cavity and a flow control means for controlling the flow of the liquid. The apparatus also provides temperature control means by which the temperature of the liquid may be adjusted, which along with pressure control means and adjustment of pressure of the liquid in the cavity, provides a desired hemostatic effect during the surgical process.

  • Patent number: 4924851
Abstract: Operative coelioscopy surgical apparatus for receiving electrical instruments, flexible mechanical instruments and rigid mechanical instruments. The apparatus includes a tubular canula and a handle member which is removably attached to the canula by a bayonet-type connection. The handle is provided with a series of control members which may be operated either simultaneously or separately, and these comprise a first push-button for controlling the transmission of irrigation fluids through the canula, a second push-button for controlling the aspiration of irrigation or body fluids through the canula, a third push-button for supplying electrical power and a lever member for mechanically controlling the movement of rigid and flexible instruments.
